Still looking for an allocation
#51
You're right but I can't stomach the ADM. Interesting how some (most?) charge ADM while some don't. Everywhere in the NY area asked for ADM so I contacted my old local dealer in my hometown in Texas and they agreed to put me on the list and committed to MSRP.
Fingers crossed it goes into production.

The one on their showroom floor a few weeks ago had a $75k ADM though.

Amid the supply line shortages and turmoil, and with G production halting at year-end, I can imagine the folks in Graz are revising their numbers daily. They'll have a much better estimate for this week's production 2 weeks from now.

I ordered and purchased my current G63 for at MSRP. A friend also got his 2021 a few weeks ago from the same dealer and he paid MSRP. Some dealers do not charge ADM for orders. This may have changed post suspension, but my friend's 2021 arrived weeks after MB announced the suspension and they did not charge ADM when it arrived.

Finally over
I made it official today. I was able to find an allocation that could be changed.
mid December build.
for those of you still looking, I suggest you call Ray at Cherry Hill Mercedes. He is a gentleman and will not steer you wrong.
I believe he still has an open allocation for a G550 and has a G63 matte black/black that is still available.

I think you're short-changing yourself. You live in the "exotic car Mecca" of the east coast. After driving through Palm Beach a couple years ago, I developed whiplash from the endless parade of Euro-metal (OK, there were a few blondes who were somewhat responsible too). I think you can net $200K even if you sell your G through a consignment dealer, and it would be gone in a week.

Geez, where are they selling them? I put mine on Cargurus and just had a couple low offers. I know the G63s are worth more but my 2020 G550 has G63 wheels. exhaust, interior, etc., 5400 miles, perfect for %195k!

Dealers are buying these cars for resale. Wholesalers are buying low mile examples for export.
As you mentioned, G 550's don't command the premium of G 63's.
I'd think your car is probably in the $170k range retail.

Cargurus isn't the best place to sell a car like that.

A tip for you - Contact some non-MB dealerships of verious types to see what they would offer. Often in a situation like this a dealer will give you the best number because they already have the contacts in place who will pay the big money. Or they have direct access to manheim.

Contact some of the dealers down in Miami. Prestige, etc. They might be willing to give you more. Call McLaren Charlotte as well. They always price their cars crazy high, so maybe they would give you a premium on yours as an inventory car to have.

I've noticed that Mclaren Charlotte prices ridiculously high, I wonder why that is and how often they get their asking. There's a Mclaren with a cracked carbon fiber bumper that sat at another Mclaren dealership for over half a year and now it's at Mac Charlotte in same condition for $50k higher. When I called them about this car they didn't disclose the crack until I told them about it. Looking their inventory, they seem more like a pre-owned exotic dealership than mclaren dealership

They do consignment so that's how they can afford to have so many vehicles--they keep the cars on site and just take a cut when it sells and the current owners carry the cost of inventory.
Every time I read this thread I'm like hmm I wonder how much I could get. Then I go and drive my G63 and I'm like "Nope! Can't do it."
Figure there's others in the same boat.
