Still looking for an allocation
#2
You're aware G production is being suspended in 3 months, and no MY2022 vehicles are scheduled for the US and Canada until (maybe) 12 months from now? Autotrader.com has dealer listings for G63s at 2x MSRP, while others you need to call and ask for the price du jour. Do you really expect to find an unsold G in the next 90 days for MSRP + $20K (or whatever you consider "reasonable") when even Kias are selling over MSRP?

Custom builds were on 6 - 12 month delivery schedules best case before production suspension was announced. If you "right now gotta have" a G, you'll need to take what you can find in existing inventory at whatever price is being asked. MY2021 production and sale ends in 90 days, and you're not the only shopper out there. Pick 10 dealers at random, call and ask how many custom build allocations it has remaining, and let us know how many said "none" and how many were still laughing when you hung-up.

I think it would be in good spirits of the forum to cut the guy some slack. He merely came on here and asked for leads on buying a G he can still make custom changes on and he is willing to pay ADM. I agree he is a little late to the game, but there might be someone out there that has a VIN, and is still able to make changes. He just wanted a lead on that type of scenario if anyone had one. Now, if he came on here and said "I want a G allocation and refuse to pay ADM, what do you got?!", then I can see giving him hell about it.

OP, worth a call to the dealers to see how much to get your name on those allocations.

if you are open to a used one with low mileage there are several out there..the search is a little complicated though since not all show up on autotrader..got to go individual dealer sites (non mercedes)

So many forum posts in recent months are about (1) buyers still waiting for a build date advisory and (2) buyers being socked with surprise (and substantial) market adjustments on top of whatever their buyer agreements specified. Right now is absolutely the worst time EVER to be buying a new or used car, with price, selection and delivery at all time worst case conditions. Yet many are getting sucked into this herd mentality vortex, believing they gotta have a new car 'cause everybody else is buying a new car and the FOMO factor overwhelms rational decision making.
Given these current circumstances affecting the auto industry and auto market, and the additional circumstances specific to G Wagens, are there really that many of you who would take a dealer's word that he can score you a custom build within the next 3 months and deliver it at no more than $50K ADM? Earlier forum posts portray dealer promises as binding as weather forecasts. I can anticipate forum posts that continue to appear early next year -- dealers that never delivered the promised vehicle and dealers whose ADMs became larger than the MSRP.
If a G is essential to your existence and well being RIGHT NOW, buy one that currently exists at its ridiculous asking price, and trade it for your custom build in a year or two.

50k ADM aint what it used to be. Jumping the line for one of the last few 21's and last new G wagons in NA for at least the next 10 months is probably going to run you significantly more than that.
My dealer is currently selling 2019's for 50k over the original MSRP.

$50K (G550) and $100K (G63) seem to be the benchmark ADMs on autotrader for 2021s. These Gs might not be flying off the lots at these prices yet, but as buyers learn their allocation builds ain't happnin' this year, these will be snapped up and the ADMs will increase as inventory depletes. Anyone who has a pending allocation order, but no P/O# and VIN by Nov 1 might want a backup plan if a G is a must have.

As the showroom doors gradually swing shut over the next 12 weeks and reality sets in, the market frenzy will turn to private party sales. You're sitting on an appreciating asset that will fetch more than $25K by 2Q22 if you still have it then.

As long as it stays perfect with not a lot of miles, which mine will! My wife is actually coming around to selling it since when she heard they are coming out with an electric version she decided that she wants one.
