Lock Keys in?

I sold my G550 today and it will be picked up soon for its trip to CA. Sorry to see it go but there are still toys in the stable so I will survive until the EQG arrives! Anyway, when it gets picked up I am planning to leave one key in the dash slot and the other in the middle console - is it possible to lock them in? I hope not!

Are you using a transport company? Why not give them the keys?

Yes, a transport company is being used; however, that is what the buyer requests. Maybe the driver will want a key and it just dawned on me that they usually leave a window down just in case - D'OH!

Congrats, Bob! Glad to see you have sold your fossil fuels G. Whoo-hoo! You and I are in the same boat: as soon as the EQG is available for order, I will jump on it!

Couldn’t you unlock it for them with the Mercedes app before they switch over ownership on that?

Personally, I have had mixed results with the app. Sometimes it simply doesn't work under ideal conditions.

It is possible to lock them in the car. It's kinda of a hassle to unlock it as well. You cannot use the app. You have to unlock by logging into the website. Some sort of safety feature.

Please describe how one locks both fobs in the vehicle so that I (and others) don't accidently do this. Doesn't this require closing the driver's door after pressing the lock switch and/or pushing the lock post down?

Glad I'm a luddite frightened of smartphone apps and all things Mercedes Me.

For anyone wishing intentionally to lock his/her key fob in his/her vehicle, all it takes is wrapping it in aluminum foil so that it's undetectable by the vehicle.

This place is a joke.
This sounds strange, usually the transporter takes possession of the keys and doesn't leave them inside the car.

I’ve unlocked mine with the app also. Even when it’s at the dealership, it asks if I want to lock it while they’re working on it.
