Production schedule not updating
Hello there I am currently waiting for my g63 to arrive however it’s been showing produced not shipped since Nov 30. My dealer tells me it should be here from Dec 25 - Jan 1. My question is is anybody aware of Mercedes’ not updating there system and my truck may possibly be on boat on the way to the usa?
one note is my production day was Nov 30 but it was already built by Nov 30 accordingly to there page.
thanks everyone

I thought they were done at the end of the year with 2021s and ceasing orders, then the next year is the new model mid year or so. As u said, time will tell. If you don't have an order # this late in the game good luck. I am not saying that to be disrespectful. I hope you get your G.

If you have the PO number, you can try plugging it in under the customer reference number on this ship tracking site. If it made it to the dock, it should show it.

VIN # not a big deal since it's not produced yet, but if you don't have a purchase order number yet, I do not think it will be made.

Still don't know
Order placed in August, after crisis, dealer told me that it was picked up for production, his local MB rep told hom that committed orders will be produced in early 22. I think it is part of the excitement.

So hopefully it's on the way to the dealer. From what I read on the shipping site, day date and year are in this order. DD/MM/YYYY. So if thats the case it possibly shipped to the dealer on Dec 11. Fingers crossed (: Thats if I am reading it all correct. Not 100 percent sure.

Mine was in a stall mode to what the computer was saying if I remember right. Read above in the threads and use the tracking link a member posted. Put your PO number in there and maybe it will pull something. Thats how I got my info I just posted.

Seems to be much misinformation circulating. If MB could keep making MY21s throughout all next year, it certainly would. If the production of V8 models was entirely chip supply related, seems that MB would have transitioned to MY22 in 4Q21 and up'd the MSRPs. I continue to believe the V8 halt is EPA compliance related, and if this is the case, MB can't keep making MY21s next year to circumvent regulations.

Yes the model year designation cannot carry over into 2022 so production must be completed by Dec 31 to be delivered as a 2021 model in the USA.
The actual rule (49 CFR 565) states that a model year cannot extend beyond 2 calendar years. Since the MY21 cars started production in September of 2020 they cannot continue production of that model year in 2022.

Can't speak to model year production timetable but offer my experience as follows: ordered a MY '21 G550 in September; the truck was produced on November 12th. It hit the Baltimore port on December 10th and arrived at my dealer today. Taking delivery on this coming Saturday. I guess I'm one of the fortunate buyers that wasn't put through all the dealer drama. This is my third G from the same dealer and also enjoy a twenty year relationship (many cars...too many) including many referrals of friends and neighbors. For the record the purchase is at MSRP. An interesting note is that the residual value based on a three year lease fell from 56% on my '20 G to 53% on the '21. Same lease terms in both cases. Go figure.

So what you're saying, per the (49 CFR 565) since MY21 production started in September 2020, 2 years from that production start date that would be September 2022!? So, they have plenty of time to finish the MY21 models. Even if the production time did not extend to September, production can continue after December 31 '21, based on the CFR code. Right?

G550 MY21
I have a copy of the MB letter to employees thanking for their dedication and to have safe holiday. So It doesn’t sound like they’re doing any overtime.
What it sounds like, based on what you’re stating is a firm production schedule, is my sales person is giving me false hope by telling me I would be 3 months out once MB restart the pause. Waiting game. SMH.

Many times sales people know way less than people that read these forums and are in the know. And sometimes there is false hope, or people are just making assumptions based on fragmented info. I say that with respect.

You’ll be getting a ‘23 and are probably one of the first in line when ‘23 production starts in April/May. I know that’s the case with mine since I passed on an early December build slot.
