When will G get MBUX?
Some spy shots of g63 have appeared online with fully covered interior. Does it mean MBUX, and maybe interior refresh is ccoming to 2022/2023 g class? Is mbux worth the wait or should i just buy one right now?

I payed 29,000usd for the order hahahaha. Its expensive too order here in Dubai and its non refundable.

AMG specifically said that they will sell v8s for 10 more years.
Why would they put in a v6 in their one of the most expensive vehicle??

no spy shots have shown testing of a hybrid so far. If anything I’d expect a V8 alone or V8 plus mild hybrid.

Is the G-wagen getting MBUX 1.0 (NTG 6.0) or MBUX 2.0 (myMBUX, NTG 7.0)? I am curious how the facelift G-wagen would implement MBUX 2.0 without the W223 style middle screen.
In one country so I heard from a news article, the G-wagen was sold as a G 350 (specifically without the d) with the 2.0L 4-cylinder making 299hp, 295lb/ft of torque. However that is just to satisfy that particular country's strict emissions plus to help the buyer avoid taxes on high displacement engines. I don't see why the top trim G-wagen won't get a V8 across the world though. I mean it has to be a V8, it is either V8 or nothing! What happened to The best or Nothing, Mercedes? Either put the V8 inside or don't sell a G-wagen with an engine smaller than that. Anything below that is no longer "The best".

USA spec GLS 450 with gas 6 cylinder and mild hybrid puts out 368 ft lb of torque
Euro spec g350d puts out 443 ft lb of torque.
that’s a significant difference and yet the g350d still underperforms. 0-60 in 7.4. I think my old Toyota Camry did better than that 10 years ago.

bro that’s a diesel. Totally different system. And it sucks.

BMW did not get caught cheating emissions.
Volkswagon group and Mercedes were caught cheating.
BMW's diesel engine's EGR got overheated trying to meet emission requirements, which caused the cars to catch fire.
This is why they had a massive recall for BMW.
They still sell 350 and 400d diesel engines in Europe and Asia.
For G they have the G400d. This particular diesel engine still has many issues.

I wouldn't count on a V6 anything as Mercedes is using an I6 now. The G350d and others are a diesel I6, not a V6. I would bet on the V8 coming back to the U.S. market with MBUX for the 2023 model year. I would love to know what the issue is with the U.S. version because the rest of the world is still getting the G550 and G63 models. Either way they aren't going to let this go on for long, there is way too much money being left on the table in the U.S. market with no G to sell. There is a new Range Rover and a new Lexus LX600 just dying to get to market with no G to compete with.

Get as far away from this person as possible. They have no clue what they're talking about. There is no V6 coming in a G model in the U.S. or anywhere. An I6 is possible since they sell other version of the G elsewhere with an I6, but I doubt that will come to the U.S. as a petrol model.

I know many want the the MBUX, I am not one. I have a vehicle with a screen where you have to go into it just to access the heated steering wheel or the heated seats along with other simplified things. Buttons are so much easier. Then there's the finger printed up screens. I feel going into screens takes too much eyes off the road time and would much rather have buttons and knobs, rather than looking down at a screen and going into this and then turning that on or off through a menu. Thats just me and welcome anything new and if it is better so be it. Maybe I am just set in my ways. (:

YMMV.

Will be interesting to see if they keep the steering wheel with touchpads or go to the new S-class/facelifted wheel. The GLE/GLS retains the wheel similar to ours running MBUX which seems like the best option as the on the new S it is terrible and very distracting. Don't think the dash allows enough room for a HUD, based on the spy pics we see additional radars upfront. Any guesses on what driver assistance features will be added? Hopefully LKA will work better.
