MSRP for 2022 G63s out yet?
#26
1. All Mercedes Dealers can ONLY post a New Mercedes (any model) at MSRP - so correct Dealer ADM price cannot be posted for New Mercedes
The "slicker-than-most-work-around" - going into last fall - there were several dealers who would take a New G63 - put 30-4-50 miles on it then choose to Post on their website as "Pre-Owned" at ADM price.
2. When VPC ships and invoices a New Mercedes to a Dealer - there are automated systems that post directly into Net Star Dealer Inventory - and then there are other Dealer-side systems that auto-post to Dealer Website. There are also 3rd party auto systems like AutoTrader, CarGurus,TrueCar - that poll/pull NetStar inventory for each dealer.
3. If a member wants to Pursue a on-the-ground New 2021 G-Wagen - and face-to-face is not possible - then BEST strategy either phone or email - to give that Dealer full name/address/contact info - AND make a Realistic Purchase Price Offer. "Today" - if you want to have a decent shot - my best estimate for March would be $30K-$35K over for G550 - and $55K-$65K for G63.
4. NO - 2022 G-Wagen's are NOT right around the corner - as of today - my best "guess" would be "initial release" will be at best July - and more likely August. And 2022 dealer deliveries will be "about" 40% of 2021's received last year.

It would seem the only way to clear leftover 2021 inventory is to restrict 2022 deliveries. The leftovers won't be bringing in absurd ADMs, but nobody's losling money even at MSRP.

There re only a handful of unsold 21's on dealer lots. These will be gone by the time the 22's arrive(which probably won't be till August).
Smaller allocations on the 22's. I don't see any drop in demand.

Have had several dealers tell me that orders for 22s will be taken in May and delivered August. Will not comment on pricing or adm. MBSF as several 21's on the lot. They are just holding out. Stock market and gas prices not helping dealers command a premium adm but they seem content on keeping them until someone has to have one at any price.

Can any Sales Associates on here see what colors are on constraint / unavailable for MY22 G63 (in the upcoming production months)? I was looking at an old thread, and it seems like Mercedes tells dealers what colors aren't available for a certain month (i.e. they can't do Platinum Magno)?

I was told by my dealer that all Magno paints are “indefinitely delayed” yeah I was told that instead of discontinued. I switched my 22 build from Magno Night Black to Arabian Grey.

Indefinitely delayed is the phrase I was looking for...sounds about right. However, my original build had Arabian and was delayed months. I do have Night Pack Plus, so I wonder if that plays into anything.

The only person who can provide updates re timing is the dealer, right? There's no Track Your Dream for G-Wagons, like there is for some Porsches? If I call MBUSA, are they able to see a production decade in their system?

May will be when the first of the 2022s will wrap up, from what I can see. As of now, no MSRP announcement for any of the returning V8 cars.

Was told by my dealer that I can build a car now for release in August. Will be a 2022. If I want a 2023 I can wait and get around November. Assume the 2023 will have MBUX. Anyone have a view on this? Assume will be the MBUX in new S Class and not the revised system in the EQS.

Rumors have been mild refresh of bumpers, MBUX and hybrid engine for 2024. If true 2023 would be relatively unchanged.
Smart play is to get whatever you can get now and then get back in line for another after delivery.

I tried that strategy but my dealer told me if I buy the 2022 now I would need to move to the back of line so I couldn’t get a 2023 so quickly (even though I have bought a lot of cars from this dealer). I do feel that is a reasonable approach by the dealer. Given this is mostly a summer car for me I will wait for 2023. Most of rumors I have seen say the 2023 will be revised.

Same here. Was told build date end of this month with late July/early-Aug delivery

Did you ask your dealer why dealerships are being told to hold vehicles in their possession until August? He didn't bother to explain the reason for that action? Doesn't make sense. When my salesman told me the truck should be here in July he said nothing about holding it until August. What good reason would they have to do this? They are about making money! Covid and equipment shortages slowed profits for dealerships why hold up the money making machine until August?
