2022 G63 AMG BASE MSRP: $231,900.00

Good morning MBWorld,

This is my 2nd G63 & as many of you I have also been just as curious on what the MSRP will be on the 2022 G63 which is still shown to be ‘TBD’ on MBUSA content.

To add, my dealer has yet to be able to tell me what the pricing for my ‘built’ order is—seems to be the same matter for all of us.

Good news & bad news. Will start with the good first this time.

Good:
My 2022 G63 order (Arabian Grey on Classic Red/Black) has been built and is awaiting to board vessel for the US as of 5/23/2022.

Bad:
This morning I went to pull the Monroney Window Sticker (monroneylabels.com); paid the $7.99, and now I’m just trying to unsee what I saw….

2022 Base MSRP: $231,900.00 (Did I order a G65? lol)
2022 Price after options: $241,975.00

2021 Base MSRP $156,450.00 (This makes 2022 MSRP up 39%)

***Things Noticed***

•Sticker excludes many factory options I built out: Exclusive Interior Package Plus; AMG Night Package; Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel & Leather Grab Handles (not sure if they are delivering without these options or if it’s just missing on Monroney’s sticker?) would love to see someone else look theirs up and verify.

•Does not include Arabian Grey color option price upcharge as a line item below the top msrp line, not sure if the base is $231K with the Arabian Grey ($6,500) option or without.

•Shipping fee increased from $1,050 (2021) to $2,075

•22” Forged AMG Cross-Spoke Wheel Option shows a decrease in price $4,450 (2021) now $2,500

See attached pdf for reference.

Everyone who bashed people for paying the excessive ADM’s and called them stupid—well their good day just came as I feel the Price+ADM to me looks like it will indeed hold up? Love to hear everyone’s opinion. I hope this is just a hoax and I only burned $7.99 on this….

$231,900 is the exact MSRP for a 2022 Canadian G63.

No way Mercedes increases that much. You can’t walk it back in the future.

That converts to $181,000 USD roughly.

Also Canadian dealers will essentially buy out all their G63s and export them to the US for an almost guaranteed $50,000 bonus

I have a lot of thoughts about your post. I continuously check the MBUSA content for 2022 G550 MSRP and the only information available on the website is the 2021 MSRP. The MBUSA link https://www.mbusa.com/en/vehicles/class/g-class/suv. Didn't find TBD anywhere. Share your link please.

I assume you used the VIN number the dealership gave you? I read somewhere that Monroney data is not suppose to be available until the vehicle has been cleared by VPC (customs), right? VPC is state side right? Your G is waiting for ship assignment like mine. After VPC clears the vehicle it's put on a truck headed for the final destination. I checked the Monroney FAQ and one person asked: why did he only get a checklist after entering his VIN. The Monroney site replied: We have 100% VIN-specific coverage for the following brands in the United States (MB was on the list). The site went on to explain: But, if your car is included in our list of covered brands, the most likely reason is that your car was built for sale outside of the U.S.
https://monroneylabels.com/docs/faq

So,
that's my second question - why is your VIN available and it was built outside the US and has not cleared VPC? I may have something bass ackwards so let me know.

It's just so much information out here it makes me ask questions.

Thanks for the website and insight to the Monroney window sticker. Never knew it was called that nor how it came into existence. History of the Monroney sticker is very interesting to say the least.

Aren't Canadian and US EPA etc. different? Can they legally do that? Are the Canadian vehicles sent through VPC/customs again?

MB is probably using the Canadian values for insurance purposes as they ship the cars until final pricing is released.

This is probably a placeholder until the US MSRP is released. Final MSRP would probably be consistent with the 8-9.5% MSRP increases elsewhere.

much of your statements are on point; I agree.

I got the TBD from the 2022 MB order guide for the G63. Doesn’t seem to be available/easily accessible by the public. Not sure why MB hasn’t updated their website. I’ve had this guide since March 2022.

In response to how I have my VIN? My dealer gave it to me. Once it’s off the assembly line I’ve always gotten my VIN issued, both domestics & foreigns.

if this is the case, which I hope it is, than I’m not worried about the price hike. Totally reasonable & within justification if my opinion mattered. Time will tell. Just sitting and being patient. Not really worried about it at this point.

Prices are going to have to go up due to increase costs of the materials to make them. I don't think it's going to shoot the MSRP up 40%, but an increase of 10% is probably in line with the increased costs for materials. Steel, aluminum, paint, etc. have all gone way up in the past 18 months. Those costs are going to have to be passed on down the line to the consumer. @AMGJAY It'll be interesting to see where your MSRP actually ends up. Let us know when you get a vessel name and we can track it to see when it's going to arrive.

OK so the 2022 is about $22k more ($179k for 2022 vs $157k for a 2021). Considering inflation and then also dealer markups, this is actually a lot less of an increase than what I was expecting from MB. I imagine dealers will be happy also since they will still be able to get a nice mark-up over sticker. 2022 is the year to get before they go with a mild hybrid V8 (2023 ?).

Yes and this should also hold 2020/21 values up with the price increase. My 2022 G63 arrives in a few weeks (to California) and am pretty excited!

Wow $179k base!! My dealer quoted me $20k over sticker for my incoming 2022 (no price on build sheet). It went into production 5/10 & its to be delivered end of June. I currently have a 2021 G63 Arabian Grey w/ Red Diamond stitch leather. Has about 10k miles. This is the first time my dealer is charging me an ADM.

Now knowing the big price increase, it's making me think. 2022 will demand a big premium, especially if this is indeed the last year before the hybrid version. Once the MSRP becomes well known, previous gen's price will hold and if not go up in my opinion.

Should I keep my 21' but still buy the 22' and perhaps sell the 22'?

Anyone interested in a 2021 G63 Arabian Grey?

I’m surprised your dealer is charging that much ADM assuming you are trading in your 2021. I can understand for a new buyer but getting a G back in trade is rarer.

It all depends on what trade value they give you. If they low ball you, I’d just keep the 2021, but if they give you over your 2021 sticker, it would all probably work out.

Yea, usually if you have a G they'll cut you a break considering they get one back and can mark that sucker up while keep you as a customer.

Ya if the increased msrp is as such (which I still find it hard to believe a 15% msrp Increase) then I will discuss removing the ADM..if they don’t agree then I’ll keep my 21’ G.

this will be my third G63 from them. My sister just bought a 22’ GLS from them and I’ve bought several other Mercedes from them.
