Hi Team,
recently I have been noticing some noise from the rear boot gas strut and wanting to remove it to further investigate.
I was thinking this will be an easy job until this morning actually trying to do it. Unlike the bonnet gas struts which can be easily removed by unclipping with a screw driver from the ball joint, the rear boot one has a different end cap and I just couldn’t figure out how to unclip it from the ball joint, I assume it’s the little black cap on top but it’s tight as and I don’t want to break it. Does anyone know the correct way to remove it? I don’t have to unbolt the entire ball joint do I? See below pic what I am referring to, thanks team!
