I am picking up my 2022 Arabian Gray G63 in the next week. I am planning to PPF the entire exterior but haven’t decided if I wanted to do the standard clear film or the XPEL stealth film.
Has anyone personally or know of anyone who has done the stealth ppf on an Arabian Gray G? Curious how the color would look when the stealth/matte film.
I do things like this, impulsively, more often than I should. It would be nice to see a sample/example of how this will look before I commit to this decision!
imo ppf is a complete waste of money. I've seen where people on this forum have paid anywhere from $5-10k for partial to full ppf and on my 1 year old 21' G550 I don't have any ppf and the paint finish looks just as gorgeous as the day I picked it up from the showroom.

Appreciate your opinion, but all it tells me is that we both have two different ways of how we treat our utility vehicles. My G is no garage queen, so PPF for me is not so much about IF I need it, it’s more so about WHEN I will need it. Not to mention I can’t imagine Arabian Gray being an easy color to repair when it comes down to it..

To each their own... My G isn't a garage queen either. It's my daily driver. I wouldn't personally spend money on PPF. Even if you got a few paint chips you wouldn't spend close to $5-10k having them fixed... But hey someone has to keep the wrap shops in business!! 😆
It only cost me $2k for Suntek PPF on the front, hood, front fenders, mirror caps, and behind the rear wheels. And this was after a paint correction and followed by a complete vehicle ceramic coating for $1k more - well worth that little bit of money for what I got IMO I also had my Porsche Spyder done the same way and I that has proven to be worth it, especially if one partakes in any high speed driving on a regular basis.
I'm paying $2,500 for Xpel on the front with brush guard included, bumper, lights, hood, fender flares, mirrors, A-pillar and leading edge of roof. Another $500 for Exoshield for windshield and it is all well worth the peace of mind on interstate getting hammered with bugs etc.

I personally like the stealth in many many colors, but when it comes to Arabian Gray, that color is special without anything added to it, just how it looks on the G Wagon makes it more of a special toy!
it's always a good idea to have the installer do a full panel for you to compare. keep us posted here looking to seeing your G

With you a 100%. Didn't get it for my GTC or C43 coupe nor will I get it for my G63 when it arrives and I drive the heck out of all my cars. All of them look just fine and I save a bunch in the process.
I think PPF is good for guys that are nit-picky and just want a little (false) piece of mind. I say false because if a big enough chip or rock hits your car on the highway, no PPF on the market will be able to do anything about it. Same thing if someone smashes their door into yours.
Its only for light brushes up against your paint or very light dings with the obvious UV protection and ease of cleaning. But thats about it. The cost far outweighs the minimal benefits and it doesn't show up on your Carfax or anything so not like it adds value when you go to sell.
I used to PPF my cars, but haven't PPF'ed my most recent cars and have no regrets about it. We drive all our cars and the limited benefits don't really justify the cost of the PPF.
I had some *** on a citibike following me real close. Actually didn't even see him until he crashed into my rear bumper when I stopped. Left a huge paint smear on the PPF and nicked it a little but the paint underneath was perfectly fine. For matte paint, I would recommend getting PPF. Not that much you can do to correct the paint if something happens since buffing it would just make it glossy.

It's a personal preference, I never use to do it, but since I drive a lot, I mean a lot, it's very beneficial at least for me, especially in New England weather, salt, snow, etc for my daily driver and when it comes to off-road it's the best investment I did on 4X4 squared, especially that it has a factory Magno paint. no regrets about any PPF so far!!
