305/45/22 no rub on 2019 G550?

Anyone here know if 305/45/22 will rub on a 2019 G550? All the posts I'm reading point towards yes, and the safe tire is 285/45/22.

That being said, I found two setups done by Wheels Boutique using 305/45/22:
https://wheelsboutique.com/gallery/m...us-monoblock-z (this is the exact wheel and offset I am getting)
https://wheelsboutique.com/gallery/m...-on-hre-p104sc

Thanks in advance.

my guess is that there will be some rubbing on full lock on the forward inner fender liner in the front. that being said i have a set of HRE p101SC in 22x10.5 with terra grappler g2's in 305/45/2022. they should get here end of next week and i can update whether or not there is any rubbing. the guy i bought them from had a g63 and he said there was NO rubbing.

that would be amazing.

If you don’t rub, I’m getting 305/45/22 as my offset should be similar to what HRE recommends.

what year/model do you have?

I have a 2022 G63. I purchased the HREs from another forum member who had them on his 2021 G63 and he did not have rubbing

I have the AMAZING Recon grappler in 305/45/22 on 22x10.5 wheel (offset i think 30) , and my car is lifted 50mm. The is a VERY minor rub at full lock. so little rubbing the you could barely hear it. I'm sure after few thousand miles it will disappear (after the tire wears out)

I ran Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 285/45/22's on my previous G and the front tires just cleared rubbing at full lock. Rear tires were fine of course.

Looks like 285/45/22 is 32.1" tire circumference and 305/45/22 is 32.8".

I would be very surprised if the 305's didn't rub without modifications. I mean the 285's cleared by millimeters.

What wheels did you use?

I might go with 285/45/22 to stay safe then - that size also has the tire I like (Falken Wildpeak A/T3W). I run them on two other cars and they are perfect for Midwest (no need to swap out winters/summers).

The 305/45/22 is nice though as more sidewall protection and more meaty look.

I used OEM 22 rims--I believe their offset is 36. Here's my post about them and a picture of how close it was to the plastic trim if you scroll down:

So what was the result of this, and what is the offset of those HRE's?

any update if the 305's clear? Have 30mm spacers on OEM 22's and would love to fit the 305 Ridge Grappler if possible. Any intel appreciated.

Smile 305-45-22 on '24 G63

I know I’m a few years late to this thread, but I wanted to share my experience. I Installed 305/45/22 Nitto Recon Grapplers on a 2024 AMG G63. No modifications, no level, no lift — and no rubbing at full lock. The extra sidewall on the 45s gives roughly 3 inches of additional height compared to stock 295/40/22s, adding a noticeably more muscular stance while still keeping factory ride quality.

Thanks for the update. Do you have pictures of the 305s look? Want to compare it to the 285. Thanks

Thanks so much for posting this follow up. The OEM 22 rims you have in the picture are a 22 x 10 and have an offset of +36. It looks good and I'm happy to hear there's no rubbing on a stock W463A setup. The 22's I'm interested in are 22 x 10.5 with an offset of +20. So probably a bit further out by a few mm. Anyone feel like that might have more clearance issues than the OEM 22s on 305/45r22 pictured here?
