Advice for Purchasing/Ordering G550
I am looking to purchase a new G550. I have contacted a few local and out of state dealers. I managed to find a ‘22 model over the state lines and the dealer wanted $15k ADM for one they had in stock but would have otherwise sold for MSRP if I was in state apparently. Additionally they wouldn’t allow outside financing, and I would be paying essentially 2 percentage points higher than I would have received had I went my own route.
Would you recommend paying the ADM? Or ordering a new 23 model from someone else? I am leaning towards waiting it out as I see the market is dipping. Please feel free to give me a sanity check if I’m wrong.
I am located in NC and none of the dealers I’ve contacted seem very optimistic about getting an order within the next 12 months. If anyone has any good contacts in the NC area or nearby that would be willing to sell a G550 for MSRP please do let me know. Thanks for your advice!
I managed to order g63 a week ago and it will be built on 02.02.2023 I'm from LA... So yhaa it seems like availability is getting better and I also get the feeling
that you are a bit early to the party
getting it from MSRP without really good and long term relationship established with a dealer is a dream imo.Market is getting better but I really think you should wait at least until February of 2023 to get a good view of the market and the adjustments because it is still crazy out there XD
If you can hold, hold. that's what I think GL tho
I think I will continue to do my search and maybe find one in the coming months. I think as the 23 models start to come in, it may turn in my favor (hopefully). So at this point I will stick to my guns and hold out for MSRP.
"Looking through the brand’s model lineup, one of the most startling price increases will be for buyers of the 2023 Mercedes G-Class. Starting at $139,900 for the G 550, that’s an $8,150 hike over the model’s 2022 price. The automaker suggests, however, that updates will be coming to the famed SUV later this year, which may explain why the increase is so big." - source: https://www.carscoops.com/2022/08/me...-an-8150-hike/
