Windshield Protection

Had couple chips from rocks recently on my G63. Does anyone have any recommendations for windshield protection?

I’ve got an appointment to get clearplex installed soon. STEK has stopped selling their Dynoflex product due to very apparent clouding that’s been happening. Apparently there will be a new product coming out from them soon.

Clearplex on both G63's. See some wiper scratches on one that has been on for 2 years. Still worth it.

I have exoshield on my Black Series and clearplex on one of my Ferrari's and both are great but I think exoshield is slightly higher quality

Thank you for all the recommendations. Any of you experienced any distortion after install for exoshield or clearplex?

I had exoshield on my 21. No distortion but it made the wipers chatter a lot.

I bought the clearplex kit online but haven’t installed it yet.

No distortion at all with exoshield. Initial install of clearplex had major distortion, especially at night with oncoming headlights but that was mostly solved with re-installation.

I’ll try exoshield since most of you slightly prefer exoshield over clearplex. Thanks again!

Soon: 2020 G63 Currently: 2016 GLE63 SUV + 97 F250HD, Before: 2013 G550, Range Rover Sport, 1984 CJ7
I found all of those to be great options. I used Bray and Clearplex with good results too. I replace every 24months (or peel layers back every 12mo if using bray).

I wouldnt drive a G without a product like this if you do alot of highway like I do I am at 40k miles all highway - no issues.

I have Clearplex on my G 63. No distortion, and no issues with the wipers. The installer told me to apply car wax to the Clearplex once a month. I keep forgetting to try it, but it *might* help the chattering??

Unfortunately, I couldn’t install one. My installer told me there is 70% chance the windshield will crack while installing Exoshield. The crack can happen from putting pressure and heat around the areas that have small chips. He suggested I drive without one.

Wtf what’s the point of installing it if there is a 70% chance the OEM windshield will crack during installation?? Sounds like your installer isn’t well versed in how to install this…

There are couple windshield chips and he says putting pressure/heat can possible cause a crack…

I think its probably less than 5% chance it can happen but he doesn’t want to risk it and cost him $3k to replace my windshield if it cracks while installing
