Lightbulb 4k to repair break pads on 15k mile - g wagon G550

I got a quote for 4k from a Mercedes Benz Service Center to replace break pads for the front and back of the car. Is it a better idea to get quotes from other repair stores to get the same work done?

My dealer south bay mercedes in torrance quote was $1900 front and rear brake pads. I went with ceramic pads for $550 from brakeworld

I replaced the tires AND brake pads on my 2021 G550 at 25k miles. Total cost was $2,500 with the tire special, which also included an alignment.

Definitely shop around. If you're in Orange County CA check out Pro tire and Auto services in Midway city ca. They did my front and rear brake pads no rotors less than $800 out the door.

I learned not to do brake jobs at the dealer if you have alternatives. I’d see if the ceramic pads work for the G550 and if so get those and either have an Indy shop or tire place do it. If not try to find the cheapest place selling oem pads online.
