First timer
I have owned other MB vehicles and brands. Took us long time to get to owning this beast. Arrives in about a month.
we took all options with magno black etc…
wondering I’d need some protective film for front end . Also read that windshield is prone to cracking and there is no fix but replacement. Few folks swear by some screen protectors that has saved them from damages.
so if someone could advise me on these two and if any of these films and screen protectors are worth it or should I just enjoy it as is.
it will be driven very little and we plan to keep it for a long time.
also are there any good car covers that I could buy.
thanks

The two main windshield protectors are Exoshield and Clearplex. I've had both and they are fine. Be aware at least initially it will result in chattering of the wipers at low wiper speeds. 2000 miles in it seems to have improved.
I had PPF on my 2021 and used to drive it on the highway and had two rocks hit it that still chipped the paint and even put a small divot. I couldn't fix it without removing the PPF so I left it and ended selling the car. I've decided since never to drive the G on the highway so I've skipped PPF.
If you don't drive much and are going to keep it awhile I would skip the PPF. It'll likely age and then it's a bear to remove if it's been on for awhile.
With that said ceramic coating is worth it. Makes it much easier to wash and keep bug guts off the paint.

Thanks for taking time to reply.
I also don’t plan on using it on highways since I have a gl450 and f159 crew for long vacation drives.
I will research who install the shield protectors in my area.
does Mat finish black benefit from ceramic ? Just to front or full truck ?

I've used both Clearplex and Exoshield. The Exoshield seems to be a little thicker, so it might provide better protection. A fairly large rock (I saw it coming...) hit my windshield (sounded like a gunshot). The Exoshield has a small ding in it, but it saved the windshield.
BTW, my windshield wipers don't chatter. The installer applied ceramic coating to the Exoshield. Maybe this helped with the chattering issue? You might also try applying car wax to the windshield film periodically. That might also reduce/eliminate windshield wiper chattering.
I have a 2020 G 63 magno black, and I had Expel Stealth Matt Protective Film applied (about $1,500) to all of the high risk areas. I also had ceramic coating applied (about $1,000) to the entire vehicle. It's worth it IMHO.
BTW, I'm glad I had film applied to the high risk areas (entire front, mirrors, rear fender flares, leading edge of quarter panels and the rear bumper). But, I wish I would have also had film applied to the rear door and the area immediately around the rear door. I am surprised at how easy it is to hit the area around the rear door when loading/unloading the back of the G wagon.
