Do new G Wagons not have Mbux Voice Assistant? I seen Mercedes just put out that ChatGPT beta but I don’t think it’s going to be on the G Wagons?

 

Voice assistance in cars is a gimmick imo

 

No, the G has COMAND NTG 5.5. MBUX is NTG 6, 7 and now 8.

The typical lifecycle of a model generation is 7 years with a refresh about half way through. Infotainments get updated during the refreshes, and with the next generation. Nothing new. It was up to date at the time it hit the market.

 

Nobody making buying decisions about this car based on infotainment.

It could have a tape deck and I’d still want it.

 

I have not used the voice assistant once. I always used Carplay and Siri, which will always be up-to-date. Honestly, I don't know why manufacturers spend time on their proprietary systems. They should let Apple and Android continue to evolve as the smartphone will constantly be refreshed ~yearly. Now if Apple Carplay and Android Auto did not exist, that would be a different story.

Even if the newer Mercedes G's in 2024 comes with MBUX, I don't think it's something I will use. I will still gravitate toward iOS's built-in capabilities.

 

wrong lol. I’ve been waiting 2 years to buy the new GMC HD for the updated infotainment system. Now they just came out and waiting for it to get to the dealership

 

MBUX sucks… I’ve used it in a few loaners and am not impressed. Besides it’s not even the latest infotainment version. MB.OS will eventually replace it. But like others have said I don’t bother with it and prefer CarPlay

 

Lol is right—good for you enjoy the GMC, but read my post again. Nobody buying the G is worried about the infotainment.

If they are they are missing out.
