Switch Wheels/Tires from 22" to 21"?
Has anyone swapped their 22" wheels/tires for OEM 21" or 20" wheels/tires? I'm interested in purchasing a 2023 that has 22s but prefer the 21s. Is it easy enough to purchase the new set and either trade in or sell the old ones?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I had 21’s on my 2021 and ended up buying 22’s with all-terrains but kept the 21’s in my garage for trade in purposes.
It’ll be easy to go to a lower size as the 22’s are more popular, but be aware if you want to sell/trade back to a Benz dealer, then they will want the correct rims on it for CPO purposes. If you plan on keeping the car for awhile it’s not an issue.

Long story short back when I spec'd the 2021, I did not care for the silver rim around the 22's, so I went with the all black 21's. With time the 22's grew on me, but I was not planning on changing.
I was at the parts department picking up a cargo mat when they told me about a guy locally who buys a bunch of cars from them who had 22" G63 take-offs that he wanted to get rid of. So I contacted him, got a good deal, and bought Nitto Ridge Grapplers on them (have a thread elsewhere on the forum).
I kept the OEM wheels in my garage and when I decided to sell swapped them back and ended up selling the 22's on A/T's to a guy on ebay with a G550.
Since then either I've ordered 22's or the cars came with them already.

The silver rim is my concern as well. Also, having more sidewall on the 20 or 21s seems appealing. I have ridge grapplers on my wrangler 392 and they are great. Do you still run those on your current G63? If so, how is the ride and noise level?

No I went about 8 months in between having the 2021 and 2022 (an eternity to be without a G) so I sold the A/T tire set up so it wouldn't take up space in my garage for that long.
The ride was fine and noise level was not bad but I only drove a few thousand miles on them.
If I get A/T again I'll go with the Nitto recon grapplers.

Yeah the ridge grapplers look amazing but may be a little much for my needs and I've read mulitple places that with time they become really noisy. Also not that I ever drove that fast but it always bugged me that the rated speed limit was 99 mph. I like a bigger buffer with tires in case it's a really hot day, etc.

I have a G63 that has about 12k miles with factory Pirelli tires on 22-inch rims. I was wondering if anyone has installed Michelin 295/40 r22 All season tires and had any input they can share?
Michelin All seasons 112Y XL come with 45K tread warranty, which seems heck of lot better than the current Pirelli scorpion's 12K mile life.

That looks great. Love the silver 22's since you don't usually see them in silver. Are those 285/45r22 tires?
