24 G63 Tricke charger

Hi All,

I couldn't find any information about the battery in G63 in search. Is it a Lithium battery or a standard battery? will this work?

It’s an AGM battery. I use a Noco Genius 5 and there’s some threads elsewhere where others report which ones they use.

I use a Yuassa battery maintainer. Just about any battery maintainer will work. The one you posted is the same one Mercedes sells without their name on it.

for use as a maintainer, do you connect NOCO to both battery terminals or do you ground somewhere on the engine block/body?

I use the access under the hood on the passenger side. There’s that red cover that slides to show a positive pole (like a metal blade), and I ground with the metal post on the side.

This is convenient because the battery is in the trunk under the cargo floor and requires removal of the metal clips to get access to.

There’s a bolt on the side of the fender well. I tried showing it in the picture.

Can you use one of those maintainers that plugs into a 12 volt connection inside the vehicle? Or are those not "hot" when the vehicle is off?

No, the 12 volt port shuts off when you open the door. I have one from my GT3. You might be able to get alligator clips for that charger. I have a Yuassa maintainer that wasn’t expensive from Amazon.

Mercedes' battery/trickle charger is made by CTEK. Anyone that is made for your battery type is fine.

I personally use this one: https://smartercharger.com/collectio...oducts/pro25se

I'd recommend this:
https://smartercharger.com/collectio...omo-bundle-kit

or this:
https://smartercharger.com/collectio...oducts/cs-free

https://smartercharger.com/collectio...-chargers/?i=1

If you want the cheapest one that still works: https://no.co/genius1
