Wheel and tire advice / help
first time post here and recent new owner of a 2020 G550. I just ordered a new set of 22’ oem g63 rims for my vehicle and will be installing them with new tires once they arrive. I know several people have fitted their G550 with larger wheels and would like to hear about ride quality and what tires and size people have liked best.
tire size: can either of these options work on a G550 model? Will either one rub on a full turn? Do you feel one option is better than the other?
295/40/22
285/45/22
tire brand: I would like to know what tire members here think offers the best ride quality? I have the stock 20’ inch rims on my vehicle now and the ride quality is great, so I’m looking to maintain as much comfort as possible.
thanks in advance for everyone’s thoughts / responses
Michelin CrossClimate² 285/40/22 is what I went with on OEM 22" wheels.
295/40/22 doesn't have an all-season tire with winter snowflake.
285/45/22 does fit, but you have to be careful of different tire brands and models as it's a close fit and some can rub.
If you don't need a snow tire, I'd get the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 in 295/40/22 (OEM size).
If you care about looks, 285/40/22 Falken Wildpeaks or any other all terrain tire looks awesome. I am more focused on best traction in all seasons.

It's not an aggressive thread pattern and should be fine on highway, but I have not personally used them on the G63.
