I had a smilier issue. Thought it didn't work, fit. Assumed it was because the dash was different. Had two of my "mechanical friends" look at it and they concluded the same thing that it didn't fit. Then I got frustrated and annoyed and decided to give it another try. Hooked the bottom first and then slid the top across. Boom, it works and fits fine. It just wasn't obvious on how to do it. Having said that, my phone now immediately blocks the screen especially the NAV which is quite annoying.

In conclusion, it does fit but it also does suck.

In my case, it didn’t fit at all, and even if it had, it wouldn’t have aligned properly with the dashboard. I’m waiting for a better solution.

Anyone have any experience with this mount?

Agree - These guys have them on the GX 550 at half the cost. Thinking about details can make a difference.

My favorite radar detector is on sale today btw. This is the lowest price I remember seeing it, $379. This is the R7 with the arrows. I had this hard-wired into my Taycan and have it non-hard wired in my G580 now (although I plan to hard wire it).

FitCamX

I contacted FitCamX to confirm compatibility with the 2025 G63. I included pictures of the mirror housing and later received this message: "Hello, we are currently developing a camera that is suitable for your car model. We will email you when the mold is completed."

Connect a USB-C drive to the vehicle and enable the dash cam app through the infotainment menu $200/feature

I am really glad that you told me about this option. I activated the dash cam and avoided an installation. Thanks!

Only problem is you don't get any rear camera views from the built in Dash Cam. I guess the front is better than nothing.

There is generally a presumption (in the US at least, I apologize if this differs outside of the States) that if you’re hit from the rear you’re not at fault versus hitting someone in the front. Cams are usually in place to cover your *** in the event of a lawsuit/worse.
