If it doesn't have that package do you think the ride will be same as older models?

I had a 2025 G550 for a little while to hold me over until this one got here. It is absolutely the AMG performance suspension. It is astounding. Comfort mode is actually about 1 million times better than my 2022 G63 was as well!

This will sound crazy but one of the BEST features on the 2025 is the active lane keeping assistance when used with the Distronic cruise control. I’m not saying I look at text messages or emails while I drive (lol) but the G wagon is so prone to wandering that previously it was almost impossible. To be able to sit there now and have the car drive itself for 20 seconds or so is amazing when you are just in freeway traffic!!!!!

Ahhh. That's the thing, I have the car on order without the Amg performance package...when I ordered it I thought it has to come with gold wheels and I skipped it...

Now I'm wondering if I should cancel based on not having it

If it’s not too late to change your order, otherwise they will sell it to someone else and I doubt they will take another order from you. This has been discussed since I placed my order The first of July, I don’t know how you could have missed it. The performance package completely changes the ride and handling.

Too late, it's arriving west cost 12/5. I was not on the forum. Shame on me. I should have done more research.

Now I'm leaning towards canceling because there's a high adm on it too...but I'll burn the bridge with the dealer. It is possible to order from somewhere else?

If you don’t already have a long standing relationship with the dealer then the chances of getting another allocation for a custom order is highly unlikely. If you end up keeping it just get on the list for a 2026 and order the performance suspension then and trade in your 2025. Once you are part of the G family it’s much easier to get allocations going forward.

agreed, dropping it on them would be the end of year relationship with that dealership.

I haven’t driven the 2025 yet but it’s not like the 2019-2024 is bad to drive.

See what the wait and ADM situation is locally. Also see if the original dealer is willing to get you a 2026 for MSRP or lower ADM knowing you’ll trade a 2025 back to them.

Thank you for the advice guys! Sorry OP, didn't mean to jack the thread.

I haven't driven any of the G's at all before so maybe I wouldn't mind it. It is the color and trim I wanted so I might just trade in for 2026 like you guys said.

It's looking like 30-40k adm here in Los Angeles. I'm paying 50...for 1st time buyer, no relationship. Hard to pull the trigger during this time

What is surprising though is majority of the current inventory available doesn't have the amg performance package? The ones in the dealer lot.

Not a hijack brother, don't worry about it! I would take the G as you've ordered it and not burn the bridge. I loved the '24 G63 that i had and that was the prior suspension. I also thought that the '24 Final Edition I had and the '25 G550 were great.

Regarding swapping out the ‘25 for one with the upgraded suspension, since people are saying you’ll just need to suck it up, you may as well reach out to the dealer, tell them you’re willing to take the hit BUT, may as well ask if there is any flexibility and if they have anyone in line that might want to take this off their hands ASAP so you can get exactly what you want?

Not saying suck it up, but that backing out of an allocation will make it harder to get one in the future and it’s not worth missing out on an allocation just for the performance suspension if the build is otherwise perfect, since models without the new suspension still drive amazing.

$50k ADM is rough tho but I get that the west coast is a tough market…

50k adm is not a relationship you want to have anyway honestly.

How would I go about this? Ask them if they have customers who would buy this? And ask for another build maybe with adm deposit?

Or did you mean take the adm hit And ask for another build with another adm hit?...

Ugh, idk what to do now... I mean there are 30k,40k adm ones but they also don't have the performance package and not the color I want. And 20k out of state ones also no performance package.

I can back out and talk with another dealer..but no prior relationship/history how would I get another allocation.

+1

I do not understand the concept of burning the bridge. If you want the performance package then cancel. There are plenty dealerships that will sell you one at $50K ADM.

Tell your dealer you would like to get on the 2026 waitlist and would trade in the 2025 when the 2026 comes in. Use that to negotiate a lower ADM on the 2025 or the 2026 since they would also be making money on the trade.

I agree that at $50k ADM you’re not really burning a bridge if you back since a lot of us with long standing dealer relationships are paying MSRP on upcoming orders. They will take you back at $50k in a heartbeat.

the way g wagons are falling in price now not sure I want to buy a 25 and trade it in on a 26 and pay 50k adm. You may lose 70k+ in that deal....just for some suspension?

Nice
Very nice. Though I am not a fan of light colors this one is pretty !!
I am shocked to see MSRP of 245000.
I have a 23 and except for a few small items everything has gone up !! And I only had an MSRP of 205000.

when you say that it is the best g63 so far, what specific drive quality is different from a 24?

The main differences are keyless go, MBUX, mild hybrid, performance package. With the performance package, it rides, drives and handles completely different. The hybrid gives it more power when taking off from a stop. Wireless car play and touchscreen. You don’t have that stupid lane keep assist which was dangerous. My 21 to my 24 went up $31K. Same spec except I couldn’t order the speed delimiter on my 24 which was $2200 on my 21. It’s included with the performance package. Also wireless phone charger and USBC ports. New AMG steering wheel with AMG controls on the steering wheel. Heated and cooled cup holders.

24 to 25 prices didn’t go up much other than the MSRP bump of a few thousand. It’s that the 25 has so many more options now—full leather interior, cherry trunk floor, etc.

Heck the cost of monoblocks actually went down by $800.

Is there a list of what cosmetic exterior differences are on the 25 vs the pre 25?

I notice the extra "ring" around the front bumper vents... nothing else really jumps out
