Custom Order G550 Arrived at VPC. Still waiting to clear customs due software issue.

My custom order G550 was manufactured on 9/29. It took about a week to build and arrived at the Brunswick, GA VPC around 10/26. It sat a few days on the ship finally being offloaded on 10/30. As of today, the vehicle has not yet cleared customs or been assigned to a vehicle carrier. My dealership is only 6 hours from the port in Brunswick. I have checked in with my dealer weekly and there has been no movement. Today I followed up again, and I was told that they (the dealership) finally got word that the VPC is waiting on a software update that has to do with making it "emissions compliant".

Does this make sense? Does anyone have any details on this software issue? Has any other deliveries been delayed due to this software issue? I assume I am at the mercy of Germany for this software fix.... At this point 30 days at the VPC seems a bit extreme.

My G 63 wasn’t held for the software update. I would think your dealership should have the best information.
My dealership received a G 550 on the same truck that my G 63 was on.

My 2024 G63 was held at the VPC for 8 weeks due to a damaged arm rest in transit. I tried literally everything to get it released even suggesting I take delivery and have the dealer replace the part once it came in. MB would not budge and all you can do is be patient and wait for them to release it. It was super frustrating especially since I am only 2 hours from the VPC…

Yeah, something is going on. My 21 G 63 sat at the VPC for about a month waiting on EPA certification. This is different because there’s plenty of G 550’s being delivered.
