Just received mine at the end of February - traded in a 24 and loved the exhaust notes on it so was worried based on everyones feedback. The first few hundred miles on this 25 were kind of tame but now after 300+ miles (comfort mode) it sounds as good as my 24, especially at lower speeds when i step on it. I actually thought there was something wrong at first because it got throatier during a 3+ hour trip and stayed that way. Wife thinks it’s obnoxious so I’m doing something right.

Sorry, man. I'm not (and I don't think anyone here is) buying your comments. It's either wishful thinking or manifestation of buyer's remorse. No way the '25 comes remotely close to '24 in exhaust note (just like the '24 doesn't come close to the '21). That whole "it gets louder once you drive it more" is simply untrue and silly to begin with. I verified that with my MB dealer (who acknowledged it and actually helped talk my wife out of ordering one). The acoustics of the '25 have been absolutely detuned by AMG relative to '24. Fact is, '25 is much more quiet and tamed in engine rumble - almost sedan like. What was worse for me is the lack of vibration and feel in the driver's seat as it relates to the road and operating conditions. Yes, the '25 is a better car on paper, but it comes at the expense of engine growl and driver-car connectivity.

Oh well, I was hoping what the other forum member mentioned was true. Really need a driving before and after video to compare.

I guess MB calls that refinement, except not exactly what we want.

Not sure what the whole fuss is all about but my dealer who is one of top 10 in the country tells me he is yet to find one customer who favored going back to a 24 from a 25 after trying the 25. I still have my 22 G63 and it is formidable but the new 25 G63 is just a better car now and as a driver I really can't tell the difference in the exhaust note.

As noted above, '25 G63 is just a better car now.
Received allocation past month, delivery end of summer. Luckily I was able to check out '25 in person. It look and feel modern now. Superb job by Merc. Cannot wait for my delivery.

i agree with this. After 500miles it is very throaty at low speeds. Burbles, pops. You can really bring it out more in manual gear changes.
Also my observation is that comfort is definitely louder now in my 2025, than my 2021 was. Which was very muted in comfort.

i think you need to have the windows open to really appreciate the new soundtrack. The 2025 definitely has had modifications to the windows and insulation. Which makes for quieter cabin all round

I drove my W463 to pickup my W465 and didn’t notice it being worse. In fact, I think the ‘25 sounds better, especially under load! I was also very worried about reading all the reviews about how it’s way more subtle now. Mine is a Canadian vehicle so it doesn’t have EU emissions baggage. Anyways, I’m actually happier with the ‘25 when it comes to exhaust sound!!

Has anyone tried this yet? It’s the same thing as RENNtech EVM. ASR actually makes them, RENNtech rebrands it as their own and doubles the price.

It just opens the valves 100% which you don’t get under any other condition besides WOT. It overrides the factory settings, so its either open or not.. which I find annoying but the better option IMO, the CETE module, requires you pull apart the whole back of the trunk to access the electronics. It retains the function of the exhaust button and driving mode settings.

Yes, we talked about it previously but no one wanted to try it, one of the forum members' dealership said don't recommend modding the exhaust, except it isn't.

Here was the discussion, just keep reading down from that post on: https://mbworld.org/forums/g-class-w...ml#post9086708

What I believe will help on the 2025 is just cracking the window down a bit, as the main reason the sound is reduced is the better sound insulation (from what I read).

I've been through this experience with my '24. Go into the menu settings and lower the fan in the rear and set it as the default. Otherwise, both the rear and front ventilation system will go on full blast if you have "AUTO" set, and the rear runs like madness without you knowing. That solved the problem for me. Hope this helps.
