you don’t have to. Down the road if people come with some legit hacks, I may just trade in mine for a new one. Enjoy what you own

I do enjoy my 25. The dealership doesn’t want me to modify my vehicle. They’re hoping Mercedes will come out with a software update.

Yeah, I'm really glad my wife moved away from the '25. We had tested it at the dealership, and the growl just isn't there. I've seen several on the road now, and can barely hear their exhausts even when I pull up right next to them (drowned out by road noise). My good friend picked up his '25, and now regrets trading in his '22.

Overall, the '25 is a better engineered vehicle and has better tech. However, for me, the ride and sound now border on being those of a sports sedan, and the visceral connection between the driver and the car is somewhat disconnected. I'll be holding on to my '24 indefinitely.

I hear you, I traded my 24 in with just 2300 miles on it, in new condition. They sold it in one day.

I would just drive and enjoy the '25, but put it into manual mode more often. After all, it's still an awesome truck. Like you, I'm not a fan of after market exhausts/products. I don't anticipate MB will be doing any significant changes to the G63 or G Wagon in general anytime soon until it hits its 50 year anniversary.

I open the exhaust in the individual mode every time I get in. Anyone who says the 25 exhaust is louder is mistaken. I would still rather have my 25 over my 24. The technology is much better in the 25.

I think you already know this but basically you press the right AMG Drive Unit screen once to instantly switch to individual mode when you first start the car instead of having to rotate the dial.

yes, I push the switch forward on the console and it puts it in individual mode. The tech guy at the dealership has it set to open the exhaust in individual mode.

I mean that is the traditional way, with the Drive Units, all you need to do is push on the screen and you can get to individual mode immediately.

: )

It is the right screen you push on, you don't need to use any force at all but it is not like just tapping it, you do need to push on it. The left screen you push on the icons to change the icons displayed or you can change it in the infotainment.

Yes, the screen acts as a "button" as well.

I think the person who commented their 2025 is louder was not in the US. Their comment implied GCC countries. Does it mean the exhaust is muted only in North America? Any feedback from European markets?

That is strange then, after all, most of the noise regulations are in Europe not North America.

it is louder in European markets than outgoing model. But it was always very muted in Europe. My understanding is now US is at parity with Europe. So US seems quieter now.

this dude does a good job of explaining the new sound for euro model

Perhaps people who received their US delivery can confirm if this is the sound they are hearing, @ timestamp around 12:00min mark:

I think it's safe to say that the exhaust system on the 2025 has been further tuned to produce a result that is a bit less resonated than 2019 through 2024. Several caveats. I've been told by a few reliable sources that the engine, transmission and finally exhaust system will not come into their own until about 2500 miles of adaptive break in. Also, the longer the vehicle is driven on a single trip, the more pronounced the exhaust note will become as the steel in the cats and exhaust system continue to heat up and expand. Add to that a meaningful increase in the insulation and sound dampening of the 2025 cabin versus prior model years.

There's a very simple fix if the exhaust note is not to your liking. Brabus and arapović among others make Cat back exhaust systems that are simple to install and make a pronounced difference in the final exhaust note. Fabspeed makes a bolt on cat back exhaust system that uses the valve motors from the original exhaust. No wiring harnesses etc. I installed it on my 2019 and it is a tasteful upgrade to the exhaust note as well as sound output. Having said all that, I still prefer the 2025 by some margin over my 2019.

I have a lightly used authentic Brabus exhaust that will fit a 2019-2024 G550/G63 or 2025+ G63. There is a Brabus adapter for the 2025+ G63 as it's slightly different where it mounts to the downpipes.

If anyone is interested, send me a PM.

Redstar downpipes are sold, but I also have OEM G63 mufflers too.

Did you have it installed on your G 63? If so what did you think of it?

Was perfect for me (returning car to stock to trade-in), comparing Brabus to others:
FI Exhaust - louder than Brabus a little higher pitch.
Akrapovic - louder than Brabus, higher pitch (titanium), but not typically what you expect from a titanium exhaust.
GTHaus Meisterschaft - Brabus is louder and deeper

Brabus exhaust is how I feel like it should come from the factory. Loud enough to be noticed but comfortable for every day driving. It is also the deepest sound which I prefer with a low grumble.

That’s great information. Thank you. That was my feeling about Brabus system. The only other system Ive heard with my own ears was the Brabus on a V8 550. Sounded super nice and as you describe. Was thinking of one for my 25 G 63. Remains to be seen.

One other question for you. As far as the install, how does that system work with the stock valves on the factory exhaust? I’ve looked for installation instructions but have not been able to find any online.

Ive have a 2025 AMG G63 and built a Valved G63 cat-back exhaust and ALSO a NON- Valved G63 catback exhaust .

All Mercedes Benz G Wagen G Klasse factory exhaust are very very restrictive and 4 separatel chambered exhaust mufflers with a single electronic valve on each set of side pipes.

I used the worlds best exhaust valves imported Helical Limited British aerospace quality exhaust valves and increased pipe diameter to 70mm 2.75” . I test fitted and tried the system on the #464 models and on a 2023 G Wagen.

Here are some pictures. The G Wagen is bad-*** and engines really happy when it can BREATHE and EXHALE easily.
G Wagen inlet — welded shut Blocked OFF at the end . EXHAUST must flow through side holes in the pipe to FILL & Pressurize the 1st chamber and then go THROUGH a perforated WALL to fill the 2nd chamber.

2nd chamber G Wagen G63. Slits in small PIPE ONLY way for exhaust to fill and charge this pipe to the exhaust valve.
