I'm 3 weeks into owning a 2021 G550 with the OEM 19"x8.5" wheels. We split our time between SoCal and Idaho and do seasonal off-road and trail stuff, so when I was shopping I was trying to find one with the 18" or 19" wheels already on it. Never did see one with 18s, but ended up buying one with the 19s. Now, I'm realizing the stock tire size (275/55/19) has very few options for tires. Mine came with the Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Seasons on it, which are M+S rated, but I'm guessing otherwise will be so-so in snow, and mediocre off-road. The only other viable option in 275/55/19 is the Cross Climates, which we have on 2 of our other suvs; these have been amazing in rain/snow, but so-so off-road.
Has anyone with the 19" wheels sized down to something like 265 width, or even 255 width? This would open up options such as Michelin LTX M/S2 and others.
The other option would be going down to the 18" wheel (the 5-spoke Professional ones); but, before doing that, I thought I'd explore some tire-size ingenuity.
Also, we're heading to Idaho in 2 weeks. I doubt I'll sort out any tire solution before then - are the Scorpion Zero All Seasons passable in light/medium snow?
Thanks!

Hi,
Just did Idaho, Utah and Co with a few big storms. Ran the stock tires on my 2023 G550 and never had an issue. No off road but for snow I was very comfortable.
I wasn’t happy w the wipers however, damn things are a magnet to accumulated snow and ice, impossible to see a few times without pulling over and breaking the crap off. Wondering if adding some WD 40 to Blade and arms would help.
cheers

Great news about the stock tires... and good to know about the wipers. I'll keep the snow brush handy!Originally Posted by CSX7034
