Good hitch ball option for clearing G550 rear tire carrier
I’m getting an aluma tilt 8218 trailer for my 2022 G550 with factory tow package.
I’m looking to get a hitch ball that will clear the rear spare tire carrier. What would be the best option.
I’ll be towing my Honda s2000 so the total weight of the load with trailer is under 5k LBS

There should be a label pasted on your G somewhere near the receiver hitch that specifies the maximum length between the hitch and the ball. You do not want to exceed this by using a hitch extender, especially with a 5,000 lb. trailer. If your mounted spare interferes with full motion of your trailer with a max spec'd ball hitch, you should remove your G's spare tire and carry it on your trailer.

You'll need a drop hitch, likely a 4-inch drop flipped upside down to act as a rise. Get a high-quality, forged steel one. Pair it with a standard 2-inch shank, 5/8-inch ball. Measure from your receiver to the top of the coupler on your Aluma to confirm the exact drop you need before buying. The G's spare is huge, so clearance is key.
