Reduce Engine Oil message inaccuracy?
I always get the oil changed the the same tech, the AMG tech who is very good. I’ve been seeing him for years. Lately, last 2 oil changes, I noticed the “Reduce Engine Oil” message appears on the check oil level display. It does not appear as a warning while driving - I think there’s a more severe warning for high oil that warns you while driving?
I did notice it go away once, and showed a normal level; but then it went back to reduce oil.
The tech insists it’s fine; but said I can go back if I want some drained.
I guess the sensor can be faulty or not that accurate? I have checked with the engine stopped while parked on level ground and after a few minutes. And with the engine running.

I received an overfill alert a couple years ago when I changed my oil the first time. The problem was the OM states the capacity as 10 qts, which might be correct, but the replacement fill is only 9.5 qts. Since complying with the lesser amount, I'd received no overfill alerts up until last year when the system stopped working. Now, it simply is always "unavailable". I change oil every 5K, so there's not much chance of losing oil. Replacing dipsticks with cheap sensors must have seemed like a good idea once.

Are there different overfill alerts? Is there a popup message as opposed to just the “reduce oil” if you go to the oil level screen?
