What the G was meant to do!!!
It's funny to see all these G wagons on the street now. when originally designed, they were designed for the rough terrain. Having said that, I decided to take mine up and down some mountain terrains. I have to tell you, having owned previous SUVs, The G 3 locking differential is amazing. I love it. My only complaint is the rough ride.
p.s. Everyone up on the hill with their Broncos, blazers, and jeeps thought I was crazy taking a $100K car in the rough. I thought thats what they were built for.

That looks like Hollister Hills, took my G500 out there several times with the Land Rover club and had a lot of fun back in 2002 and 2003:

Great pictures. Anyone know a place around L.A. I can do that? I don't want to trespass or do some group oriented thing. Just me, some firends, tough terrain and the G500...

These are places where you can legally drive your G-wagen off-road on marked and rated trails (like ski slopes: green, blue, black diamond). Since these are state parks, your car insurance should be valid. I think the trails are considered unpaved roads.

Thanks very much mate. I'll have a read through the site and then go check them out. I took my Range Rover off road a few years back and it was very accomplished but i've heard the G is even more capable. Thanks for the tip on the insurance too.
