2007 g55
I took delivery of my 2007 g55 yesterday and drove it from orange county to arizona. I true delight on the highway. I had a 2003 g55 pripor with lots of problems. This new g seems way smoother. No shimy of the steering wheel. Lots more power and smoother overall. The new center stack is a million times cleaner and user friendly than the predecessor.

Which dealership did you pick yours up from, what color combo & something I've been trying to determine, how was the drive of a couple hundred miles or so (in terms of comfort)? I've been trying to decide between a G55 & an e55 wagon. Most replies indicate the G55 is not that comfortable on a long drive. Would love your thoughts! Congrats!!

I strongly advise AGAINST buying the present 2007 G-wagen in the US since it is missing many of the features that are available in the European/Middle East version including new instrument cluster, reversing camera, new tail lights, tire pressure monitoring, and some other interior refinements. I feel sorry for all the people who just picked up a G-wagen in the US only to find out in a few months when the 2008's roll into dealerships that half the new features were missing.

The drive from OC to Scottsdale was fine. I thought it was very comfortable as did my two passengers. Tons of power and the new seats very comfortable. I had an earlier model G55 prior to this one. The 07 was smooth and enjoyable. To reply to Jimmyg. I guess that will motivate me to by an 08 next year. I hope the updates that you are enjoying overseas will make it over here.

I almost forgot, It is black with the charcoal designo leather interior and I bought it at Mercedes Benz of Anaheim.

G55 & SLK55
We just took delivery of our 2007 G55 this afternoon, silver/mocha designo. It has the reverse camera, new center console, several nicer interior features from our past G55, a different instrument cluster than our last G55, and a few other things. I haven't driven it except around the block so power/smoothness was unnoticable to me. We had a 2005 G55 black/mocha and this 2007 is quite a bit different I agree the new center console is much nicer, but I did like the ruggedness of the previous G55. I like the G55 for its prowness, meanness...whatever you want to say. To me from first appearances it looks like its more 'americanized' (which I am an American, and I can see what our market drives cars).

Very Very Nice, I like the Solid structure of the G its very distinctive from the rest of the 4x4 on the roads today.
If you are want modifications, I think the Kleemann K2 is the perfect package.

Damn, I would be one pissed **** if I just bought an 07 G and the dealer didn't say anything about this update and then they start rolling in a couple weeks later. You would have to have some kind of a case against the dealer. They should have at least held off till the 08 model or offer a free retrofit.
