RENNtech Stage 5 - G55K

Finally took delivery of my 2005 G55K Stage 5 yesterday. Truck is strong and loud as hell (that's a good thing). I will post pics this evening but I have a couple of questions I need help with.

Ted- I definitely want that climate control....

*****From what I am told this is a stage 5 minus the headers. Do you think I should invest in the headers?

*****Would the ECU reset help? Will it interfere/cancel the RENNtech ECU?

*****To take it to a stage 6 I would need the headers and the intercooler. Is it worth it to add these?

***** Sprint Booster...is it possible on this truck? And is it worth it?

***** A_R_T - how do you get them to ship anything to you? Do you actually call Germany? I sent an e-mail to them (in english) but I have not gotten a response. I may go to a translation type web site and translate my English to German but is there a US dealer?

Any other tricks on these trucks would be greatly appreciated.

I also live in South Florida so if anyone knows of a decent Car Audio shop that is familiar with these would be appreciated too.

Attached pics are from MB dealer before it was shipped to me. After it's cleaned up I will post more.

very nice ...only thing i like about ART are the wheels...all the extra body parts look excessive/slapped on.

Your truck must scream, love to hear a sound clip or drive-by vid.

............looks great! congrats.

..........as far as additional mods go, obviously the truck is is pretty fast as it is. To do more mods means you want it to be faster. In that case, I think you should first dyno your truck and then run it at the track to see what it can do. Then you can add mods and repeat the tests to see if the mods are helping or not.

.........No, the ECU reset does not cancel your Renntech ECU. I don't think it helps.

.........Sprint booster is possible. The installation unlike that of the W211 E55, is in the engine compartment. It helps your throtle response. However, I have run my truck on the drag strip with and without sprintbooster and the times did not change.

I'll definitely post pics and video (if I can figure it out) this weekend. The sound is sweet. It is kind of true what they say though about having a car so fast you can't really drive it on city streets. I have never been but I really want to take it to the track. This is all new to me....and I love it

RENNtech Rocks

I just received my '07 G55 AMG back from RENNTech. Also Stage 5. WOW! This work followed the Brembo brakes and Brabus wheels. here are some pics. it absolutly roars. Next and only thing left is to put low-restriction Brabus (Germany) cats on it. Will say i am slightly disappointed in the performance of the Pirelli's that i had no choice but to use vs the Yok's.
Here are some pics, enjoy.
Going to ship it to Europe in Januray.

Nice truck. My first choice, of course, would have been an '07 or '08. I just finished getting hammered on an '07 S550 Carlsson so I had a bad taste in my mouth from buying a new car and then selling it for SO much less. I swore I wouldn't buy a new car again because I got hit so hard. The '07's and 08's are ideal but I found the '05 with the RENNtech already done so I grabbed it. I like those wheels and was considering doing those or the other Brabus ones in black. Either one I will do black just trying to decide now between the two.
Let me know what you guys think....

take into acct that the Brabus monoblock (1 piece) was specifically designed for this truck's weight. also, i was just advised that RENNtech put the intercooler pump on my truck"by mistake".

the front Brabus rotors look kinda small ?? they should be at least 15" with 8 piston calipers.

Mobsteel -

Visually leave it exactly as is - looks awesome.

MAYBE, just maybe, powder coat the inner rims black.

So understated yet menacing! Whoever did the work had good taste.

There is another Renntech G55 on eBay - silver. 1st two I've seen.

what you guys think the value for my RENtech '07 stage 5 plus extra pump on intercooler would be worth?

If it's an early '07 I would say low to mid $90's. Brand new with new instrument cluster is $110k. Don't trade it in. Try to sell it yourself. Of course it also depends on the mileage. My 2005 has 16K. An '07 RENNtech right now on E-Bay has 17k miles. You just have to find someone to appreciate the mods.

car has 3100miles delivered in April '07. i actually prefer the '07 instrument cluster over the '08 except that nothing works on the COMMAND system. Nothing=NO radio controls on steering wheel, NO buletooth/phone system, and NO telaid
