White G55?
What are your thoughts on a new G55 in white? Had silver and black and kind of dig the white but not sure. It seems to be pretty rare in white. Also, since build your own does not work for 08 G55's does anyone know if there is a tan interior available or is it still just black or grey.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Do you have any pics or a link to a color chart? I can't find anything other than black, grey and that brown designo color from a few years ago. Has anyone seen a light tan in person?
Thanks

White....
The plain white ones look like a big refrigerator in my opinion. Kind of spartan to me.
The Pope's is a cab, seems to be that new pearl white color and has no black molding which gives it a very different look. (imo)

Ok, I picked up the 08 G55 brochure today to see the color options and I like the porcelain leather color but cannot find a pic with a G that has it anywhere. Does anyone out there have this color interior or have a picture of it? Also, its a shame that the 08 brochure is a combonation brochure of all the Mercedes SUV's and not just for the G. Out of all the SUV's, the G is the only one that doesn't have the bluetooth option, the ipod adapter option, the keyless go option and the rear entertainment option. Pretty strange since it is the highest price of them all.

Love the white. An 08 just popped up on ebay listed as the only white in inventory in the US. What is a good deal on a new G55? What are you guys that recently bought paying?

Trauma....
Started watching those shows as a kid with Rampart Medical Center and Nurse Dixie McCall- "Emergency". Loved the excitement, lights and sirens. Went to medical school and still liked it. Applied for an emergency medicine residency when the specialty was just 13 years old and still riding the wave after 18 years. It still has its moments......
It has provided me with good times, bad times, a stable profession, a flexible schedule, intellectual fulfillment, rewards that money cannot buy and a few really nice toys over the years. I can sleep at night knowing that what I am doing is a good thing for the most part.

I've been invovled with "emergency medicine" since I was 14. I started to volunteer in the er of a Trauma 2 hospital and then went on to get my EMT license. I've had that license for over 4years now. I met the trauma surgeons at that hospital and it seems like when they first start out they went through hell; on call every other night, sometimes for 30 hours straight, and just the level of intensity that they had to put... That said they are cool guys that really enjoy life and and don't regret going that path. One of them is now the Head of the SICU and just hangs out watching patients sleep for the most part.
Sorry to be so personal but where did you end up doing your residency? and
Did you go the path of surgery?

Trauma....
Lots of things have changed since I did my residency. The hour restrictions have made things more humane. I remember on the neurosurgery service, I started at 7am Friday morning and finished Monday at 6pm.
I did an emergency medicine residency so I did not go the surgery path. I hang out and babysit drunks.....

There is a white G55 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego. White is my favorite color for a car but first impression of the white G55 were it reminded me of an ice cream truck..

Sorry for the late response and off topic....
I got a late start because I dropped out of high school for 2 years.
Emergency medicine was a 3 year residency instead of 5 years + fellowship.
The schedule as an er doc is generally more flexible.
I enjoy taking care of non-traumatic emergencies as well.
This is not without its downsides though.
Folks are constantly asking if I am going to specialize... because there still exists the mentality that ER docs are interns or are there because they have no specialty (if they only knew- 3 years residency, wirtten exam, practice 1 year then oral exam before board certification then re-exam every 1 and 10 years to keep certification). "Yes Ma'am I may specialize in the future......"
When are you going to call MY doctor....?????
We are always at the mercy of hospital administration as hospital based physicians and that can lead to contract and job instability. I was the director af a group for 10 years and when the hospital was purchased by another corporation, our group disbanded in lieu of working with the new administration. Some administrations will outricght fire groups or not renew the contracts. Non-compete clauses come into effect in some states ect.ect. I could write a book on this topic.
Burn out rate is no doubt high in both fields.
