g55 rear headrests

I had the same on my 11' but the service guys were able to resolve, although I didnt try it myself. They told me to fold the rear seats down from their lock position which would then release. But still have to yank the hell out of it to get it out.

Hi there I'm Mike from Italy.
Just get my 2011 G55 AMG, and I have the same problem !!!
the rear L & R headrest doesn't go down, the center one goes up and down
I can't remove them too.
If you check at the online manual, it's written that you have to push a sall plastic button tha's on the base of the headrest on the left side.

But there is NO button on the seat !
Here where I leave, I've been to 4 MD dealers and nobody knows how to do it !

See my pics. The clamp is a thick metal and there is no 'release'. You HAVE to open up the seat and pry open that clamp with pliers. There is no way you could pull up that headrest and there is no trick. At least not on the US Spec cars. And there are only 2 positions. The headrests are locked in the default position; or you take them out.
