G55 spotting (pics)
First time I've seen this on the road. Parked right next to me. Had to take a couple of pics . Always overlooked the positioning of the quad pipes til now.

Why do you think that you can't take a G55 off road? What if I told you that I've had mine off road several times. Have you driven one or do you just like to make things up?

yes i have driven one
and you already told me about taking yours offroad
u are one of a kind unlike 99.99% of G55 owners who their tires will never even see gravel what about real off road?
G55 has too stiff of a suspension for real offroading
G500 is a lot better
just money thrown in the wind for status symbol

You can swap the shocks on the G55 with the standard G500 ones with no ill effect. Outside the U.S., the stiffer suspension is an option on the G55...many come with the standard shocks.
There's no reason a US-spec G55 couldn't do the stuff I do in my G500...though the bumps would rattle more:

My G55 has the G500 shocks. Thew G55 shocks are too stiff whether you're off or on road. Eurosport, 99% of people who own G's, Hummer's, Range Rover's, Cayenne's, etc, will never take them off road. Who cares? They're still fun vehicles to own.

Coles,
The only difference between the G55 and G500 suspesions are their shocks. Ask your Mercedes dealer to order you a set of G500 shocks and do the swap. Your G55 will then ride exactly like a G500. The European G55's do not have the stiff suspension set up that the States have. If you complain loud enough about the ride of your G55, which I did, your dealership may agree to do the swap free of charge, which mine did. Good luck.

The tires on the G55 are the real reason that it sits lower than the G500. I put snow tires on my G55 after I bought it and it sat as high as a G500. So, I believe that the shocks have nothing to do with ride height as does my mechanic. You do not have to switch your tires or your wheels to perform this swap.
