Brabus Ride Control suspension
#32
The mysterious Brabus ride control black hole has struck again. Its a shame as Id like an alternative to the G500 setup I put on my 55 but am worried someone might abduct me if I try the Brabus.

Ride Control - Quick preview at the Essen Motorshow 2012
I managed to get a test ride on the new G63 with the ride control. Its impressive. It was running the 23' platinum wheels, and the ride was similar to my G55 on 18' wheels. In sports mode, there is significantly less body roll, and the feeling during high speed running gave you better confidence.
Brabus official told me they were initially very scared when the new G63 was launch with its new suspension settings, it would put an end to the sale of the ride control. But to their surprise, there was virtually no difference in handling when compared to the outgoing G55. The suspension set-up was almost identical.

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, I like the idea of the Brabus ride control set up... however, I don't want to mess too much with the car, I've read some people speak wonders of swapping the AMG shocks with the G550's or G500, that the ride is much nicer and less jarring, any feedback on this?
I understand some people might allude to the performance of the AMG as it relates to the harshness of the suspension, but, come on, other than in a straight line nobody pushes this car in a corner, I haven't met one owner that loves drifting a G55/63, so, for an owner like me that loves to daily drive a G55, would changing the shocks make a big "real world" difference?, owners feedback would be greatly appreciated.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I had Brabus suspention on my 2013 G63 and to my taste it just felt like a stock G63 suspention in sport and too soft old caddy like(unsafe at times) in comfort. As much as I loved the ecu and exhaust from Brabus the suspention is a no for me(I liked the little Brabus button in the middle console that operated the suspention). This time when I'm ready to start upgrading my new 2014 G63 I will do Brabus ecu and exhaust but to upgrade my suspention I will go with Fox adjustible shocks with Orc springs. This is only my opinion others might feel differently. Hope it helps.
