I've got a quote from Brabus Middle East of about $8k for this including installation and 3yrs warranty for my 2010 G55. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but am considering it. They have installed it on quite a few cars in Dubai, but I haven't spoken to any owners yet to get an real world feedback.

I considered it too. 8k seems to be the price. I passed cause I wanted to be able to make the ride firmer, but it seems this kit only makes the ride softer when needed. I also like that little coin / tray holder they use for the adjuster knob. Didn't want to lose that.

They "sport" button can be placed in other locations. I have a plaque where the coin tray normally is and they told me it could be mounted just as a round button without the horizontal plastic branding piece. They are now fitting this standard on all the high end Brabus G-Class vehicles and the SLS AMG.

typical Gargash!!!!!

Sorry everyone.... guess the review on the Brabus Ride control got to wait for few days.
Gargash as usual messed up the delivery handover. They commit to one date and then make excuses with lies when they dont deliver.
Amazing how we have to put up with the Monopolistic style car dealers in town.

Hopefully will take the G55 on Saturday and then get the brabus ride control fixed up on Sunday and then post a review.

have you owned a G55 before? Would be hard comparing ride control to stock after just taking delivery of new G55 for a few miles.

no gov agency bumped me off yet.
Been busy with the G55 .

Last week another G55 fanatic I know fixed up the Brabus ride control system.
I drove his car for the whole day. The technology and the softening of the suspension is amazing, but I thought it's not for me.

Im loving the stock AMG stiffNsporty ride on my G55.
Instead I opted to install 30MM H&R spacers

haha. Just incase u weren't thrown into the sea. So the brabus ride is more like a normal E-class/Sclass ride?

There's no way to make a military vehicle designed in the 1970's ride like a 21st century luxury sedan. From what I've been told, the "normal" mode of the Brabus adjustable shocks feels more like a Toyota Land Cruiser and the "sport" mode is somewhere in between.

Good choice! Use it for what it is, not for something it was never meant to be. Do you plan on different wheels (smaller than 19") or tires (larger than stock)

Curious. Why would modifying the suspension with Brabus's ride control alter the functionality of the vehicle? And what was the 2011 G55 not 'meant to be'?

I should have spoken more carefully, knowing that my "opinion" would result in more "opinion"

A. from the sounds of the ride control, it is meant more for lowering, than lifting. For me, lifting a bit when desired for deep snow or very rutted 4x4 trails, would be awesome. Presumably once back on the highway, you could drop back down to better handling lower height.

B. My personal perspective is that the G is "meant" to be used more ruggedly. Therefor lowering a tall original design is ridiculous. It's just for looks like the large rims. Trying to turn the solid axle G into a "car" makes no sense to me when there are already better designed vehicles for such lower riding and better handling purpose.

No lowering or lifting... http://www.worldcarfans.com/11008062...rcedes-g-class

Brabus does offers a suspension kit that lowers the vehicle by approx 1" but doubt that would change the vehicles capabilities for 'most' G55 owners.

Altering the stock suspension isn't necessarily about trying to make the G into a conventional vehicle but making good better predicated on the owners needs.

And yes, its all subjective.

Gargash Reminds me of the Jerky Boys character "Mr. Tarbash."

There is a Gargash everywhere. Buy a Ferrari!

Maybe more like the normal G class than a car.

Airlift kits maybe available that effect this. They go under the spring mounts, I think and are dash controlled. Im sure our friend in south Africa know about them.
