G55 vs. G550
In everyone's REAL personal experience, how does the G55 differ from the G550? I am looking to a buy a 2009 or later G-Class, but I am not sure which way to go. I will more than likely buy a low-mileage CPO car, but wanted to get some thoughts on the differences. Also, has anyone had any experience with the G-Class versus the Range Rover Sport, or other luxo SUVs? I know this is an AMG thread, but I would like some concrete feedback. Not just "The G55 is better because it is more expensive"... Thoughts?

Talk about having no manners? It is people like you that should not be allowed on forums like these. I am asking for some simple advice from other people who own the G-Class. I am not looking for snarky comments like the one you just made. Crazy? Really??? How old are we?

I personally would go for the G55, but I am an AMG nut. Everything is more beefy, and you have the exclusivity of have one of the coolest SUVs on the planet.

Have you driven both? If so, how would you describe the difference in ride quality and handling?

there have been very informative threads comparing the AMG to the 550and I think the rover too. Use the "search" function in the top right corner and you should find some info on comparisons. They may have been in the regular G section instead of AMG so try that section too. Good Luck!

You cannot go wrong with anything AMG. I was thinking about buying a CLK550 because I could not find an 05 CLK55, boy am I glad I held out for the AMG.
