I actually cancelled my order for a G63 as a result of needing an SUV and not being able to be told any definitive build date.
Almost 2 weeks after I "ordered" the car MB had not even pulled the order to assign a PO.
My guess is other than early orders or dedicated launch vehicles, we wont see US G63 till late fall or winter, but that is mere speculation

Not close in my opinion but I have a PO from MB, a build date for oct 3, and my MSRP. Got an email and call from my dealer to finalize everything a week ago today (i have been pondering colors and the limited options) No more changes from here on out is what I was told. Expecting to have the truck in hand right around thanksgiving.

As far as other availabilities go. I was told by two dealers that most every dealer will have basic G63s in sometime in Sept or whenever MB officially releases the truck here in the states. One dealer actually showed me the status of their G63s and it shows as built and sitting at the port waiting to be shipped.

I must be missing something since I'm not close.
You are getting your car around Thanksgiving which qualifies as a winter delivery.
As I said there are some unchangable launch vehicles on the way but try ordering a car with designo exterior and exclusive designo interior as I tried in early July and see how you fare.

Oswiff i owe you a big apology
I thought your post was referring to my earlier one, but now that my head has been removed from my butt I see that is not the case.
Yes I agree with you, they are not close.
I don't understand why the us dealers can't seem to get recent attempts for slots pulled.
I had an easier time getting my C63 BS
I really wanted the truck but now am picking up a 2013 Cayenne Turbo on Friday

No worries. We all have the same goal which is to get a g63 all our own and to stop reading about it and see for ourselves.

Enjoy the cayenne turbo in good health. I love that car and would consider that or the new ml63 if I needed a truck today.

I heard from the dealer last week that my G63 got on a boat July 16th. I think it should be here the first week in August. The truck is black with heated steering wheel and silver calipers. I wanted black wheels but apparently the MB doesnt have that as an option so the dealer will have to paint them. I also wasnt able to order the designo exclusive interior so went with the regular designo leather in black. The exclusive interior will be available going forward from the Sept build vehicles.

To Absent: Congrats! Since I'm in Montana we're a bit lower on the feeding chain. Netstar shows my build date for mid October and delivery for December. I am getting a G550. They've approved Mocha Black with Dark Brown leather and black piano lacquer wood. I hope carbon fiber becomes available before the order is unchangeable. What is the exclusive interior? Is is like last years option with Alcantara headliner etc? Frankly, my dealer knows less than I do so I'd appreciate the info. Any other interesting options to explore? Thanks!

Yeah I heard from Barrington that my truck came in today and also had the black wheels from factory. Going to pick up tomorrow. Weird how there was so much confusion on what was standard and what was optional. I guess everything was standard and included in the base msrp.

Nice to see some guys are getting G63s in the USA.
I had to go fat a 2013 Cayenne turbo which I picked up Friday.
I could not get any firm delivery dates when I went to order a truck the first week of july.

new g63
I picked up my truck last evening. Im pretty impressed by the fit and finish of the new interior. The only thing that may detract a bit is the flimsiness of the controls on the side of the seat for the dynamic seats. Im attaching some pics that I took with my phone. You probably wont be able to tell by the pictures but Im not a professional photographer. I apologize in advance for the poor quality.

I have only driven the G55 once a couple of years ago but if I remember correctly i think the g63 has a slightly softer ride. Its definitely tight but not rock hard. I think its fine.

Congratulations. The truck looks great.

Do you have the code for the wheels that are on your truck? I had thought the black wheels were for the G65s and the G63 would have the same style but in silver. Also is the black a matte finish or shiny? My order is for magno night so if the wheel is shiny I would have to repaint them which seems silly.

Enjoy the truck in good health.

Thanks.

I dont know the code for the wheels. There was a ton of confusion initially because when the dealer called Germany he was told that the black wheels were only for the g65. I thought I would have to paint them black but when they arrived they came in black. I just looked again at the configurator online and it looks like they are an option. They must have made a change or just solidified things down the assembly line.

The finish I think is matte. Its definitely not as shiny as the black on the truck.

Thanks for posting. I'd love to see a pic from the side and the materials of the interior trim.

Question: What material are the vertical bars on the front? Is it a steel/metal, or some other material?
