Only the 65 has quilted. Specs and photos officially announced on the AMG Private Lounge.

 

The "designo Exclusive Package" adds AMG Sports Seats with two-tone leather and diamond stitching to the G63, but it's not available in North America.

Jimmy - do you know which matte color is featured on all the official photos? It looks like magno platinum under some light and magno alanite grey under other.

Video on the g-class official facebook page is definitely magno platinum.

Do you know if alanite grey can be ordered in Dubai or was it strictly for the Edition 79?

 

It can only be ordered via the AMG Performance Studio...which is super expensive because it means the build the car in Austria and then send it to AMG to be stripped down and repainted. So basically it was only available on the Edition 79 and previously in the US for custom ordered Grand Edition models in 2005.

The g63 in the pics and videos must be magno platinum

 

Not worth the headache, thank you for the info. I am leaning towards magno platinum. If I order the car in Dubai, the designo exclusive package is definitely a nice option. I wonder if the rear seats will also be diamond stitched (?).

Sorry to hear that about the seats. Can you post the high res G63 shots? I can't seem to get them from the web bigger than a medium image size.

 

Strange, the dealer ordering screens over here show that option currently...

Do we know if DISTRONIC is an option or standard? Don't want a hole in the front grill.

Had put in a deposit for the G63 here in the US and have begun the process of building one out. The price though unannounced for the US seems to be on par with what I have been told by my dealer which is about the same price as the 2011 g55 so in the neighborhood of $125K. I see that reports have the prices in Euros at 133k with VAT which would balloon the US price to 180k. But after looking back at prices of my e63 wagon when it was announced, it was listed at 105k euros base which is actually higher than what it ended up being here in the US.

So just wanted to get opinions. Will the US g63 be about the same as the old price plus a few thousand or will it be substantially more?

 

The European base price of the G63 is only 5% higher than the G55, but one with all options included is 20% more expensive than a G55 with full options.

 

Jimmyg - what's the price of a European g55 base in euros? As for options unless I've mistaken, my 2011 g55 was "fully loaded" there were no options to add to the vehicle here in the states unless you chose designo paint and the msrp for non designo was $125,325.
