Autobiography Range vs. G63
Need to decide between the vehicles. Local dealer will have the range arriving early next month. Will be leasing the car for business purposes. I have driven my friends 2011 G55 multiple times and it doesn't seem it will be very friendly for daily driving. Is the ride on the G63 improved to a point that it can be driven daily, also did they improve the fuel mileage or increase tank size.
Never seen an Autobiography in person, but the interior seems to be no comparison to the G. It will also come with the 29 speaker sound system which I have not heard, but certain will be amazing.
I am sure some of you have had to make the same decision. I always wanted a G and would love to have to both. I may lease the range and buy a 2008 or so G55 down the road.
The range will sticker around 140k, any other suggestions at that price point?

I prefer the G63 over the Range Rover. It's more fun and has more charisma, in my opinion.
The G63 is suitable for a DD. The ride is light years better than the G55. But, you should test drive one first.

i believe u have your heart set on a G63. Having tried the older version with a the harsher ride you are still enquiring about the G63.

It is a tough decision. Dealer said I can have the range at sticker. Is this hype about them selling over sticker, sold out for however long, being very rare etc; true?
I'll definitely drive the G63 before making my decision. After consulting with my accountant both cars qualify for 6,000 lb tax deduction so it seems more sensible to purchase instead of lease now. He is telling me since I have limited depreciation in my business that I can write the entire cost off in one year. Car will be easily used for 80-90% business. Anybody had any experience with this?

I figured I'd be conservative so not to start another RRs ain't worth $30k over sticker thread. As a soon to be SC owner, I hope it stays hot. I agonized for months between the SC and the G63 and figured if I got the itch for the G I could follow my own advice and flip the Rangie. However, after 2 more post-RR order test drives in the G63, I'm certain I'll just stick with the RR. I like new and unique, and I have only seen 4 RRs (0 SCs and 0 Autos) out and about, but have seen 15-20 G63s. I'll buy a G someday, but my next true 4x4 is a H1 Alpha.

It will be a coin flip. As a status symbol the G wins everyday and a lot better resale, which I probably will keep either for a while. Thanks all for the input.

My $0.02 is that I don't like the new RR at all.

You must not live in NY tri-state area. I think RR SC's grow on trees in this part of the world. I think you see more new ones in the city than old. I looked at a 1.5 year old RR SC before purchasing the G. When asked, why so many 1-2 year old RR's, the dealer said that RR owners are vain and they have to have the latest model. I am not paraphrasing, just reporting the facts. That was all I needed to hear. Drove back and we parted ways. Point being, that premium isn't going to last long.

Autobiography is just added aesthetics/luxury to the already existing and standard luxury. How is it that alone a comparison variable? The "regular" RR is tenfold more comfortable and luxurious than the G-class.
Lastly, people who buy or not based on often they see it daily are funny.

Considering you're on a G class forum in a thread comparing $140k 500hp+ 3 ton SUVs that barely seat 5 adults comfortably makes your comment "funny". I could be wrong, but I suspect 90% (likely more) of those that buy a G55/63 or a Range Rover is to distinguish themselves from the rest of the pack. We don't need these beasts, we want them because not many other people have them or can afford them.

Personally, anyone that pays a $20k premium (above sticker) for a mass produced car with a little extra leather and paint, is an idiot in my book. But that is my opinion.

Maybe true to some people, but too bad they're built like crap. When a Land Rover mechanic tells you to never, ever buy a Land Rover, that says a lot. And that (along with many other horror stories) changed my mind of what was once my dream vehicle. Again see thread "G63 vs. Range Rover".

G63 if you want something more special and rare. Back seat space isn't huge though.

Calling me a troll? I've been a G forum follower since 2007 when I was interested in purchasing a 2005 G55. I've always wanted a G, just always found a SUV that suited my needs better at the time - couple of Cayenne Turbo/Ss, RR Sport SC and now the RR SC. I believe the G to be an extra car and when I want to drive my extra cars, I'm looking for speed and handling, so the G just never made the cut. You should look at older posts before you accuse people of trolling - I ain't got time fo dat.

The G is never going to make that handling cut you're looking for. Military vs civilian. Get the Rover and move along. It handles great and you can admire another one at almost every stop light, at least in the Bay Area where Rovers to G's are 100:1.
