new 2016 G :-(
I was ready to order my new G63 AMG until I came across several articles confirming Mercedes will release a totally new redesigned G in 2016. Anybody have any thoughts on how stupid I would be to order now knowing this info? thanks

The new one will not be built like the old one although it will be more comfortable and luxurious. If you are buying it and are interested in resale value I don't think that you can go wrong with the 2015.
It will be the end of an era for Mercedes Benz.

How could they do such a thing?
Years ago MB said the G will be discontinued then continued producing it. Now they are redesigning it? I dont know, I smell BS!!

OMG I just looked at it with a google search, I'm hoping those were pics when it was still in development cause the new G Class looks way worse

Land Rover can't sell the Range Rovers fast enough and the GL class isn't prestigious enough to compete. I'll remain skeptical of any plans MB has to eliminate the current form of the W463 platform in its current look/style. But I wouldn't be surprised if they came up with a higher end / more prestigious elite style SUV.

Most likely its getting redesigned in 2017 and not 2016 so at the earliest we'll see it in showrooms at September 2017,thats still 3 years away and the amg versions will probably not be released until a year after that, so that's 4 years till the g63 is redesigned.
And from what I understand its not going to change as much as rumors say ,MB understand what the G is and how important it is for the customers that it maintains its unique features, so ya don't expect anything close to that hideous/stupid ener G force concept, the change will be more about interior and some tweaks to the dimensions/suspension of the car but it will still look like a G maybe with different lights/grill or something.
That being said the rumors might also be a bit confused as what people think will be the new G might be a whole different car called the "GLB" which is basically a smaller G class. Other rumors suggest that it could be the new GL class.
