It might be Aux battery going bad. Several have reported this was issue with a simple fix.
I was also having bad slippage from 2 to 3rd gear. If I turned off truck, it cleared error and limp mode. However, would return often.
Update here after deal looks at the recall.

Auxiliary battery malfunction & AAS defective
Hi, I have a 2015 G63. Since the last 2 weeks I’ve been getting Auxiliary battery malfunction & AAS defective on the dash. I’ve taken it to the Mercedes dealer and they replaced the auxiliary battery. The warnings went away for a few days but then came back. Stop start has stopped working while the warnings are on. Any idea what the problem could be?
Appreciate any help thanks.

Auxiliary battery malfunction and AAS defective
Quick update, yesterday took the car to Mercedes again and they replaced the aux battery for the 3rd time. When i got the car it was fine no warning lights. Driving the car on the motorway (highway) the stop start light was coming on and off. After parking the car for a few hours the AAS defective and auxiliary battery malfunction was back again. I think next I’m going to take it to an independent specialist o sort this issue out. My G63 has got just over 37 thousand miles and has been kept up to date with its services. Will keep this updated so we can help other g class owners.

Quick update, rebooked my car back into the dealership and they have said that there is something 100% draining the aux battery. They asked me if I have any aftermarket electrical accessories and apart from a valve operated exhaust system there is nothing else (this issue was also happening before I installed the exhaust). So they said that a technician is going to run an investigation to try to find out what is draining the battery hopefully 🤞it should get sorted.

Hi, quick update so far been around 3 months and touch wood so far so good. No lights or warning have showed regarding the battery.
What the dealership did was they replaced the main 12V battery, the aux and a wire.
But I remember before I gave the car to the dealership before it got sorted I put a multi meter on the main 12V battery and it was measuring 12.3V which is quite low (car was not started) usually around 12.6V is healthy.
Also just as a suggestion for anyone else who has this issue try putting your car on a trickle charger (preferably a good quality ctek one). Or you can try Ctek’s stop start trickle charger.

Replaced OE Auxiliary Battery with a iGel battery
I replaced my 2014 G63 OE Auxiliary Battery with a iGel battery. No not error codes and the ECO drive even started working again too.
See attached photo of battery 🔋
ebay better description:
“YTX14-BS Chrome Pro Series High Performance iGel Powersport Battery”
FYI auxiliary battery is located under back seat cup holders underneath main battery.
Dealer told me it was behind the passenger glove box!¿

Hi, I'm having same problem. We replaced the main and the aux but assuming something is either draining or not charging the aux. Do you know what wire was replaced that fixed this? Also, the trickle charger would be just to avoid the main battery from dying, right? Thanks!

the Aux battery is under the main battery. They are both located under the cup holders that sit behind the center console in the rear passenger area floor.
