2025 G63 - Night Package makes no sense

Guys,

Who is the genius at Mercedes who put together these packages? I have never ran across something so stupid, and I order alot of cars. When a person orders the night package, they want the blacked out look, right? The night package does not give you this as the grille, running boards, exhaust, emblems, etc. are still not turned to black and are chrome. So it becomes a hodgepodge of different finishes. If you add the night package plus, then these things do become black but so does half of the vehicle because the plus package makes the fender flares and bumpers black too. It’s ridiculous. So you literally cannot get black exhaust without have to accept fender flares and bumpers black too? In this day and age, black exhaust is VERY common. And with the G63 it can’t even be ordered as a stand alone option. Of course you can order 40 different kinds of seats and colors, but can’t get black exhaust or black running boards without having to accept the ugly black flares and bumpers? Like literally the dumbest thing I have ever seen when ordering. Hey Mercedes, the regular night package should get give you the addition of black emblems, black exhaust, black running boards, black grille, etc. Then the night package plus should add the black fender flares and black bumpers for whoever really wants that. That would make sense

Yea, you can get 40 different seat colors as long as they are black! I would like saddle with tan, or brown with saddle. Not an orderable option. So you may not be able to get the black combination on the exterior, but it’s all you can get for the interior. On a $250k vehicle, it should really be more configurable like a Porsche or Bentley.

Mercedes isn’t really a luxury brand so they are not geared for this. They are a mass produced product, like BMW.

i know you can request to go custom on the G wagon but it should be more streamlined, like on the Porsche or Bentley configurator. So many choices to the minute detail. Mercedes USA can’t even get the basic model year configuration online for the same year!

With that said, love my G wagon!
