Hi All,

I have ordered a 2025 G63 (New Zealand spec), noticed an interesting option under the AMG Performance Package as “eliminating of the roof rack mounting” (see below).

I straggle to figure out what this means, does it mean that it will do away the little caps on the roof where you can remove to install a roof rack? Or is it something else? Can someone please help to clarify this one? Thanks a lot!

 

I have the US Spec with this package and I still retain the caps on the mounts on the roof.

Thanks! I have also verified this with the MB virtual showroom guys. They said regardless it will have the cap, so seems like it will not do much with or without it.

 

LOL!!!! This makes perfect sense, exactly that roof rack mount. I wonder how much horsepower will add by leaving out this part (all four of these might weight the same as a Big Mac).

 

A Big Mac converts to 0.0008774725 horsepower. Not worth the hassle .
Honestly though, very odd the roof mount hardware is not included when you option the Perf Pack. I’d love to know the reasoning behind this decision.
