WOW!!!!! This is bone chilling, and simply amazing. I know that they have been looking for the last Gullwing with the full alloy body; crazy enough it's sitting in my backyard of my home in Santa Monica, CA. I own a 1955 190SL as well, but before I die I WILL get my hands on a 1955 300SL.

My neighbor across the street, who I have known for years, casually mentioned a few years back that he had one of the 29 alloy Gullwings. Of course I didn't believe him... until he showed it to me (and the title).

Amazing. Why can't i ever come across any of these old garages with rare and amazing cars just sitting covered in dust waiting to be let go for cheap

How awesome! I would love to run into something like that. I wonder what that guy paid for it?

Amazing. I would love to know the story of how the car was actually located in the first place, and if the owner even had a clue what it was worth?

I would have had the Mercedes Classic Car Center in CA do the restoration.

I would imaging if I owned something like that, I would not give it up for not less then a million...what is a million to some multi-millionaire who would have bought some Italian supercar for more then that.
