1978 450 SLC--Sell and fix up, or part it out?
Greetings Classic MB folks!
I have a friend who owns a 1969 280SE and a 1978 450SLC, and he's decided to put all his resources into the 280SE. He's wondering about whether he should:
1. Try to sell the 450SLC
-ruby color, repainted in 2000 and garaged ever since.
-The bumpers and alloy wheels are in good shape, and it had the timing chain replaced in 2002. Car's mechanicals were in good condition when he quit driving it in 2005.
-approx. 130K miles, garage says it needs about $6,000 of work (new fuel tank, injectors, fuel pump, and two rotors need machining) which will put it in pretty good condition.
-interior needs some work, but exterior is in nice shape
OR
2. Part it out
Here are some pics:

How much could he get for this if he sells it? And how much for parting it out? He really doesn't want to part it out, would rather see it brought back, as you can guess we all would!
Any information you might have would be much appreciated.

MERCEDES AMG C36
it would be a nice car to see it finished and and a nice weekend drive but these cars do not sell for to much and most people go for the more classic type colours not a ruby colour
