Our friends over at Jalopnik sometimes have a real sick sense of humor. This time, there is no humor. No reprise. No safety for your children or your eyes. My apologies in advance. Women who are nursing, young children and the elderly are encouraged to look away. Those still willing to have your eyes seared by this abomination, it will haunt your dreams.

Going out on a limb here... I don't think it's an abomination. He created an entirely unique MB. MB would charge a fortune for a one off. On the other hand, if it's actually only a 2.8L under the hood it's horrible.

I know the fellow who built this, right here in northcentral Wisconsin. He normally only works on "real" Grand 600s - he has quite the operation and goes all over the world to either recover them or aid in their restoration and upkeep. I really like the man (and his wonderful wife), but I don't care for this conversion: from some angles it looks cool; from others, not so much. In conjunction with some of the 600s' original designer, Paul Bracq, he made plans to make three "El Benzos." Two have been completed, one with a turbocharged 600hp motor! Karl is unique, I think, in that he will restore your 600 to factory-like new; or, if you want modern fuel management systems and/or turbocharging, he'll do that as well.

If Mercedes had owned AMG back then and released this as say an S60 it would be an ultimate collectible and revered as the motor car that established AMG as the all-time dominant player. What a fine looking machine!

Silver Arrow ??
Probably as fast as a 600 Silver Arrow can go...!
I believe I read about this car in a magazine or another forum, and if my memory is correct, I think he took a very rare (100 built) SL600 Silver Arrow with Pano and cut it up to make this custom thing.
I don't have a huge problem with what he built, but if it was one of the 100 SL600 Silver Arrows that MB built, then shame on him.
There are enough SL600's around from almost any year that could have been chopped up. Why do this to a 1 out of 100 car?
I've never even seen a picture of a SL600 Silver Arrow much less see one in person. (OK, while searching for the link below, I did find pictures of the SL600 SA's)
I found this link, and if I read it correctly, it was an SL600SA, and he has another ready to modify.... OK we're down to 98 left in the world....

Anyway, I hope I'm wrong..can forum member Peteski confirm the if it was a SA or not, used to built this custom?
