1972 280 SEL 4.5
newbie with first MB and a stupid question
just bought my first MB (was a vette guy when i was younger) at auction. Ive read i have a not-so-unique problem, not being able to open the trunk. no data card, no emergency cable release, apparently no vacumn at all. thats not my question, tho. i have but one key, and it fits the ignition and the door. my question is this: does a 1972 280 SEL 4.5 have one key that opens everything (ignition, doors, trunk, glovebox), and then have a valet key that only starts the car and opens the doors? OR are there two keys, one for ignition and doors, and one for trunk and glovebox? I've had vehicles of both kinds. I cant believe the local dealership did not know this, did not want to see what key i had, and said they cant look up key codes. I just obtained a key code from Classic Center, but do not know what blank to have it cut to. thank you for any help or comments.
