We all discuss MB issues and all that stuff but I want You to answer one simple question - with all your actual knowledge and experience would You decide to buy a Mercedes-Benz once more?

Despite all the quality problems it's still the best driving/riding automobile by far for my liking that I have ever driven. If I find another that beats it, especially if it's Japanese, I'll buy it. Sad, but honest.

I'm in the minority, but I won't buy another one. I'm on my second, but not by choice. Not that I hate my car, I love it, but by them time I'm ready for a new car, the 202's will be too old to get and I won't get a newer Benz, especially not a 203. So off to BMW, Lexus, or Audi I will go.

It seems we all have a weakness...If it's an MB we'll buy it!!! My own opinion is that if I had the money I would buy one out of only a list of 3 or 4 MB's, but if it comes down to general "liking" of an MB I would have to say all of them!!!

I have had too many cars to count and 4 of them have been Mercedes. Two E's, a CL and an SL. While I have seen MB quality steadily decrease, I have seen the quality of other high end autos do the same and perhaps at a greater pace. MB sets trends in technology that are copied by the other German manufacturers. (bixenon, distronic)
Having BMW buy back an 80-some thousand dollar 7 series and seeing their styling trend look more like the rear end of my 25 pound Blue Russian cat, I have vowed not to purchase any more BMWs. My Ferrari 360 was extremely dependable but getting old and clutches cost more than most cars in my area. When I decided to sell it, I opted for the Mercedes based on power, reliability, comfort and styling (CLS55 AMG).
I thought about the Bentley GT but there was no real reliability history and one could not even get satellite radio. (All this for $180,000). Despite Mercedes' drawbacks, they still have some of the finest automobiles on the market. A great combination of performance, comfort and reliability with satisfactory value.
My 2 cents.....
