formymercedesbenz.com & myroadster.net - Talk about *****s!

Just a brief overview of my little story of what just occured with the folks at www.formymercedes.com & www.myroadster.net

Well, just over a week ago, I inquired via email about a purchase on a windscreen for my 2005 SLK350. Since then, I received no reply, so I went elsewhere to buy one.

Today, I receive a Paypal Payment Request from them, and I reply with "sorry, already purchased one".... well.... just read the email copy below from them... I think it says it all.

What a way to do business Not sure if any of you have used this company before, but this is a little fore-warning for those who haven't

Not going to touch this one, other than to say that I have ordered from them before without any problems and that the merchandise was topnotch.....

Try cancelling a request one time. See what happens then.

Ordered before and no problems. problem with trying to (not to) take sides
or pass judgement is that we only see only the information you've supplied
or want us to see. Hard to tell what is fact, partial facts, or fiction. Thus,
we're left with our own experiences or combination of those chiming in. Seems
that many have had good transactions.

I'd have to wonder if anything information or communiques were left out.

I've bought tons of parts from them and never had a bad experience (quite the opposite actually) - sorry you were dissatisfied.

This is the whole communication that occured.... this is why I posted this. A simple reply by them (or no reply at all) would be a professional way for a business to operate, not by calling a potential customer a "*** hole".

Jerry runs his business from his garage. There is no one else, but him.

Mpresion:

thought - call or write him back with copy of the email you received.
let him know that bunch of us on the board are wondering WTF ....and
see how he responds. unless he's bipolar or some such, i'm wondering
what it was that set him off.

Jerry gets pissed off really easy. I've ordered from him before and he gets angry when you ask for a discount and stuff. I received a grill from him before and I argued that it was used because I found wax on it and stuff and than I had problems with a spoiler I purchased from him and had to wait so long to get it.

I finally found other suppliers myself that sell the spoilers and stuff cheaper than him. I guess this is a side business of his and doesn't really care.

Jerry is a total *****. He is the worst kind of small business owner. The people on this forum who have had good experiances are those who placed an order and got what they wanted on the first try. The mark of a real man is how a situation is handled when things don't work as planned. Jerry is totally incapable of handling ANYTHING above and beyond his SOP. Realize that his whole organization is him at his house filling orders over his crappy little web site. In my long and deep history of consumerism I have never been treated worse than by this idiot. I wish forum members would take there business elsewhere.

I ordered an MP3 adapter through him. It didn't work in my vehicle. I asked him to take it back and refund my money and he gave me no problems. He's not so bad.

I know it is, but he is too inconsistant. I ordered from him, three weeks past without delivery. I called to find out what was going on and his reply was "oh yea, I was missing a number on your credit card, I was going to call you". No problem, I just canceled the order. That's when he got ugly with me. He dropped the ball and then insulted me. He dug his own grave with me and I feel a responsibilty to this forum to tell it like it is. There are plenty of good vendors, we shouldn't have to deal with Jerry and his mood swings. This forum has been a valuable source of information for me. Without it I would have ordered a steering wheel from Harris! Just trying to pay it forward.

I've ordered from Jerry many times and had zero problems. He's been pleasant to deal with, got me my items in record time, every time and always throws in plenty of little extras with all my orders. (My last order he threw in like 10 2oz. sample bottles of Finish First Polish). sorry some of you guys had bad experiences, but for each of you, there are a ton of guys from the benzworld SLK board that I personally know have had great experiences with him. Jerry really is a good guy and everything I've ordered was shipped quickly and as it was described etc.

You know... I guess that i am not really faulting you for reporting your negative experience -- that is one of the many values that we offer to each other on this forum.....

Thanks, it is also why it is important to treat ALL of your customers with respect and care. Remember, I didn't start this thread. My bad experiance is over a year old! If you treat someone poorly they remember forever. I am happy for those who got great service and free stuff from Jerry, but that doesn't excuse him for calling a CUSTOMER an ******* (in writing no less). This is a tight not-so-little community. I hope Jerry reads these post and learns. Success sometimes means taking the higher road. Jerry, repeat after me... "I'm sorry we couldn't help you with your order, please keep us in mind any of your future needs. Have a great day."
