Im thinking about buying a 380se 1981 benz pretty good condition ,but water pump is bad and needs plugs and points ,wires has a small exaust hole,and the under carrege a bit rusted.the good points are that it still looks pretty good with minor flaws interer is not to bad,but when you turn on the heat or air conditioner it pulls on the engein it either idles high or low when you do this it is only 1000.00 investment but would it be worth it after it was all said and done im totaly in love with it but would it be smart to buy it fix it,or just move on ward and find one that was in better condition i dont what this car is worth i value

 

Vaguely recall you should check whether it's a single or double timing chain or some such.

 

just this after noon i whent down and bought the 380se i quit worring about the problems and decided that i waited long enough for a mb ,of course im going to have to get fixed the water pump and all,but will thoughrly enjoy the fruits from this seed i cant wait til i get to experence this car all the way.just going to hit the open road and see what of all of the fuss is about mb.im sure its well worth my while.i thank all of you for looking at my post.
