I got my W208 430 when i was 23 and didn't notice any dirty looks or anything of that sort..
However.. whenever i let my little brother (19) drive my CLK he tells me he gets looks .. I recent just helped him get a Convertible 330ci and he gets wicked looks nowadays....

Poor kid... A convertible 3 series.... People will think its his moms car... Honestly I would crash the car if my parents or anyone gave me a 3 series convertible. Or I would just have my GF drive me in it...

I have to say I tend to get it from people about my car, but I don't care. Just this weekend I was getting from a guy at my cousins house, you know we all can't drive Mercedes. We were discussing how business is going especially since all of the big 3 troubles here and Michigan. I was just stating how our business is taking a good hit and I got the it can't be that bad you still drive a Mercedes. I got the car when I was 25 and I would get some funny looks, maybe it was because I would be sitting at a light with a cap on backwards with Too Short and or NWA playing in the backround.

Honestly if my parents gave me a 3 series convertible, i'd be very thankful for it and would never ever think about doing something as insane as crashing it. I'd drive it around with the top down blasting some Justin Timberlake not giving a f*ck what people think.
